The best thing about being an entrepreneur is that you get to carve out your life exactly how you want it to look. You map out your days exactly how you desire. It’s awesome!
I always get asked how my day’s look so I wanted to share it with you. However, it’s important to note that no two days are ever the same (how boring if they were). And also this is always changing. In summer I get up earlier than winter. The week’s we have Leo (my bonus son) look very different to the week’s we don’t have him. But here is a rough outline of what my day looks like.
4:30am ish
Wake up, share with my hubby 3 things I am grateful for and take the time to connect with him (my days are always better when we have taken some time to truly connect first thing in the morning. I then read my goals, scrap my tongue, brush my teeth, sun gaze, oil pull and drink a massive glass of warm filtered lemon water.
Meditate for 20 minutes
Movement / ocean swim / walk along the beach
Celery Juice
8:00am – 12:00pm
MIT time – This is when I tackle my top 3 Most Important Task’s for the day. I may be working on a book, writing content for a new program or product, mapping out questions and researching for my next podcast guest, mapping out a talk or writing an article for my website or another publication.
12:00pm – 1:00pm
Time to cook up a healthy lunch and eat it with my man in the sunshine at the beach. My hubby works from home too so we get to have lunch together which is so nice. After lunch in Summer, we may go for a swim and do some stretching on the beach.
2:00pm – 5:00pm
The afternoon varies. I may go back to working on some urgent projects / task’s, check in with social media, have my meetings or any interviews.
5:00pm – 5:20pm
Meditation. I meditate for 20 minutes twice a day and love it.
5:20pm 6:00pm
Any last minute urgent work bits and bobs that may need addressing.
6:00pm – 7:00pm
Dinner and family time. No phones, TV or computers just us.
8pm
Get into bed for reading and connecting with my hubs.
Like I mentioned above my days don’t always pan out like this. Things come up, but I am ok with that. I am open and flexible and know that everything is always happening for a reason. I am not ridged or strict. I believe that is key. Don’t beat yourself up if you don’t stick to your usual routine. Go with the flow and know that everything will always happen in divine time.
Now I would love to hear from you. How do your days look? And are there any non-negotiables that you have? Share them with me in the comments below. I can’t wait to read them.
I can imagine your face breaking into a huge smile when you wrote about spending times with your loved ones Melissa, beautiful to read and thanks for sharing
You promote fitness a lot as well, when in your day/week do you include this?
Xx
Hi Alice,
I have been doing yoga lately in the mornings and evenings. I love it and it works for me.

The idea of cooking happily with my man sounds divine. I have many issues and would like to heal myself with good however my partner is 130kg and a junk food addict. He also dislikes doing anything around the house e.g cooking or cleaning. How do I encourage him, as it’s very important to me to have a happy and healthy home.
It’s very hard to try and change anyone else, especially if they don’t want to change. I would continue to keep doing what’s true for you darling. When we do what’s true for us it feeds out to everyone around us.
Try and make it fun always

Are u serious only take shower once a day? Seriously???
Nope Dee twice a day for me
Melissa your days sound divine. I use the time when my baby naps to have a little time for myself, it may only be 20 minutes, but I love my cups of herbal teas and hot cacaos. I set my toddler up with an activity and my third child is at school this year. Then on my husbands days off I have more time to catch up on exercise and lots of “quieter” cups of tea. I use the night once kids are in bed to relax and catch up on things. And I only shower once a day and that suits me perfectly lol.
hahaha I actually shower twice but forgot to put it in.
Your ‘you time’ sounds lovely. I think it’s awesome how you fit it in when ever you can. Well done! Make sure you have you time every day even if its for 10 minutes
xx
Hi Mel
I love your daily routine – it’s so soulful and meditative. Thank you for sharing this and inspiring other’s too! I was talking to my friend about the concept of daily routines – it can keep us grounded, centred and focused on the things that matter to us most. Fo me, I love incorporating meditation into my daily ritual.
Much Love
Jo
Hey Jo,
Me too as you can see I LOOOVVEEEE meditation. I make sure I do it twice a day as I feel so much more grounded, centred and focused when I do.
You’re absolutely right routines are so beneficial, but we also have to remember that things are going to pop up and life will happen. When that does we just have to let go and surrender.
xx
Mel, I have a question. I, like you, have a wonderful morning routine that’s very important to me and includes lots of time to meditate and take it easy. But when I have a late night, I feel like I should prioritise sleeping in a little, rather than getting up at the usual time (6.15) but not having had enough sleep, so I’ll add an extra 45 minutes or so. But then I feel really guilty about it!!! Any comforting words?! X
Hi Ellie,
I am the same if I have a late night (which rarely ever happens because my sleep is so important to me). But say if I get a late flight I priorities sleep and I never feel guilty. It is what it is honey. Things happen but don’t let your Mean Girl beat you up if you get 8 hours sleep.
Also arvo naps are the best. I have these if I ever need to catch up.
Hope that helps my love.

Wow, a day to aspire too…. But in all honesty it seems a little too surreal. I applaud entrepreneurs that have reached a platform allowing them to dictate a daily routine that is soulful, melodic and relaxing, and one day I hope to achieve the same. However for this full time working single mum (of an amazing 12yr old daughter) my day is vastly different. I commenced a lifestyle change 4 years ago, and then refocused a year ago but still, your day is so out of touch with mine! It’s actually quite frustrating reading your daily schedule, because as I admire your courage, strength, and inspirations I almost question how in touch you could be with those still trying to find balance with a completely different schedule.
Hi Francine,
Thank you for your comment. Please note that I am not saying that this is how everyone’s day should look I am simply giving you an insight into mine, to inspire you to pop in a little more you time in your calendar.
xx
Hi Mel,
I love receiving your emails as they are little bites of inspiration that light up my day! I love the photo of this blog post as Queenstown is my home so exciting to see it on your website! I love the way you plan your day and I have such a strong sense to start my own business – I feel too young to jump right in; I am 23. People probably won’t take advice from a young one….I am studying the psychology of eating and cant wait to help people!! Thanks for your wise words X
Hi Hayley,
Thank you for your beautiful words darling. I was 24 when I started my business so 23 is not too young at all. You need to kick that limiting Mean Girl belief in the butt otherwise it will be hard my love.
People need your love and support so don’t hold back.

Hi Mel,
Just wondering if you will ever be doing 1 on 1 couching or something similar to what you use to advertise? i know your not doing it any more at the moment. Im in desperate need for life changing help and get so lost with all the differernt things that are around all the time, and your the one person that always draws me back. I wish and hope that one day i can work with you. I just want my life to change.
Love Alisha. xx
Hi beautiful,
I do have an online program coming out very soon my darling that I think you will love. It’s my 6 month coaching program packaged into an awesome online program. But at this stage I am not doing one on one. Never say never though

Hey Melissa,
Would love to know what type of yoga you do? Do you have a routine you do daily or do you mix it up?
Thanks xx
Hey Stef,
I do my own routine in the morning. I just go where my body takes me and flow with it.
