The past few weeks have been full on. The whole family has been sick and Prince got RSV. I’ve been up night after night some nights with only 2 hours sleep and not even consecutively. There were moments I was brought to my knees in exhaustion, running on empty, praying for relief.
And in the midst of it all, something beautiful happened.
One of my incredible clients Constance — who has become a dear friend — sent me a poem she downloaded for me while in the shower. She said it just came through her for me. And honestly, I bawled. It cracked me open in the best possible way. And I want to share it with you, because I know I’m not the only mama going through something challenging. Maybe it will land on your heart like it did on mine…

The Strongest Love
Being a mother is the hardest work
you will ever do —
not just with your hands,
but with your body, your mind,
your soul, your spirit.
You pour your love into this little being,
so much love it aches.
You would do anything to ease their hurt —
even breathe the sickness out of them,
if only you could.
And yet, some days, it feels like the life is being pulled from your own bones.
You’re exhausted beyond words,
moving one foot at a time,
one hour at a time,
one heartbeat at a time.
When night falls, you feel the familiar ache of uncertainty:
Will they sleep?
Will you?
You brace yourself,
your body heavy, your heart heavier,
wishing for just one hour —
two, if you’re lucky —
of uninterrupted peace.
And still, when the sun rises,
you look at their sweet face,
and fall in love all over again.
You hold their tiny breath against your chest,
their little fingers clutching your skin,
their needs as deep as your own aching need to rest.
You want your body back,
your breath back,
a single hour to call your own.
You crave space to just be —
and yet you stay.
You stay because love anchors you
even when your spirit hangs low,
even when your strength feels like it’s unraveling thread by thread.
You stay because that’s what mothers do.
We are stronger than we know.
We are softer than we show.
We are more resilient than the world could ever measure.
Even in the hardest, darkest moments —
we rise.
We show up with empty tanks and full hearts.
We give our bodies, our sleep, our everything
to the tiny souls who need us most.
We are warriors.
We are mothers.
And somehow, against all odds,
we keep going.

Take a deep breath. Let that land.
Because here’s what I want you to remember, beautiful one:
You are doing sacred work.
The world doesn’t hand out medals for the invisible labour we do — the middle-of-the-night feedings, the endless mental load, the fierce love that keeps us up when all we want is sleep… but this is what inner strength looks like.
It’s not always loud. It’s not always glamorous.
Sometimes it’s a whisper: “I’ll keep going.”
Sometimes it’s tears in the dark, just putting one foot in front of the other, and a full-body exhale when they finally settle.
But every time you rise — despite it all — you are showing your children, your clients, your partner, and most importantly yourself, what resilience looks like in motion.
You don’t have to do it perfectly (there is no such thing).
You don’t have to hold it all together (get support sister).
But you do have to remember this:
You are allowed to want space and rest.
You are allowed to feel stretched and still stay rooted in love.
You are allowed to be both the warrior and the weeper.
And above all — you’re not alone.
So if you’re in a season of tired bones and tender hearts, I see you. Keep going. Keep putting one foot in front of the other.
Do it for your babies, your partner, your work, your vision…
But mostly — do it for you.
Because you matter.
And this moment you’re in? It’s shaping you. Strengthening you. Softening you in all the right ways.
Even now — especially now — you are becoming more of who you came here to be.
Never forget that.
