As a working mama, it’s so easy for your priority list to look something like this:
1. Kids
2. Partner
3. Work
4. Everyone else
5. Me (my health and self-care)
But here’s the truth… That’s a fast track to burnout.
I know—because I’ve been there. I wore the cape. I juggled all the roles. And I ended up exhausted, depleted, and resentful.
The turning point?
Realizing that when I put myself at the top of the list, everything IS better.
When I’m nourished—physically, emotionally, spiritually—I’m not just surviving the day…
I’m showing up as the mother, partner, leader, and friend I want to be.
And the energy in my home?
More calm. More connection. More peaceful. More joy.
I know it’s easier said than done—especially when you’re a working mama. But a self-led woman doesn’t wait for space in her calendar—she creates it! She knows her needs matter. She makes her well-being non-negotiable. Because she understands that when she’s full, she pours from overflow—not obligation.
And this doesn’t mean disappearing for hours every day (although that’s lovely, too). It starts with micro-moments. Tiny acts of nourishment that remind your nervous system:
I matter. I’m safe. I’m allowed to receive.
Here are a few of my favorites:
// A 5-minute meditation any time of day or when I’m breastfeeding
// Deep breaths when my head hit the pillow
// A sacred tea ceremony with your bestie
// A barefoot walk through the grass or sand
// A moment of silence in the car before school pickup
// Letting the sun kiss your skin while you sip your morning water
// A cleansing dive in the ocean
So consider this your loving permission slip…
To prioritise you.
To lead yourself.
To teach your children what it looks like to honour your worth.
And to remind your soul that she matters.
Start today.
You don’t need to do it perfectly.
You just need to begin.
