Sweet tooth sabotaging your wellness efforts? Never fear. Today’s podcast guest is Crosby Tailor (a.k.a. the ‘Cookie Genius’) and his sugar-free, guilt-free approach to nutrition will blow your mind — while making you seriously salivate!
Like many of us, Crosby began his path to wellness after experiencing some personal health issues. Feeling lost, he turned to Chinese Tonic Herbalism and holistic nutrition for answers… And answers he found! (Not to mention a whole new career — and life — as a celebrity health coach, model, and leading biohacker!)
There aren’t a lot of people I’ve come across that I can totally geek out with, and who are as knowledgeable on health, wellness and biohacking as Crosby. His philosophy is refreshing, his recipes are insane (I dare you to scroll his Instagram account without drooling), and he’s an all-around epic human. This is one conversation you won’t want to miss!
In this episode we chat about:
- How to eat dessert and burn fat, yes it’s true! (08:15)
- How good fats will help you lose weight, have humming hormones, and get seriously sexy skin (16:04)
- How much body fat do women need to be healthy? (Love his take on this) (21:01)
- What sugar actually does to your body and why it’s so harmful to your health (27:15)
- His best anti-aging hacks (29:34)
- The most common mistakes that women make with their health and diet (03:40)
- The surprising link between fat and your genes (25:14)
- Why he avoids sugar at all costs, and his favorite sweet alternatives (33:45)
- The truth about fruit juice (35:40)
- The hidden dangers of probiotics (that most people don’t know about) (40:33)
- Plus so much more!

Love love loved this podcast Melissa! So many nuggets of wisdom! I was particularly interested in your discussion regarding sugar stomach fat because that information can be hard to find. Keep the insights and wisdom coming!
Hi Melissa, aside from 23 and ne, are there any common DNA testing options to shed light on things like mthfr mutation. Would 23 and me have provided everything you found useful from your own testing? Loved the talk, can’t wait for more xxx
Yes G it did, however having an expert help you understand the DNA test is imperative. Have you got someone that can help you with that?
I love this episode! I am listening to it a second time. I did have a question about the bullet proof coffee, is it suppose to replace a meal? Or do you drink it with your meal? Thank you Melissa! I am loving your podcast and all of the beautiful insight from each episode xoxo
Hey Dani,
Generally, it is meant to replace your breakfast but have a read of The Bulletproof Diet as it will explain everything.
xx
Moring Melissa,
Hope you’re having a wonderful day!
This podcast was the first of yours I listened to and loved it. Have also watched Ben’s and have started Kirsty’s.
I absolutely love them also far and can’t wait to listen to Marie’s. Kirsty’s has me very interested currently dealing with gut issues myself.
You mentioned in this podcast with Crosby The Body Ecology Diet by Donna Gates. Would you recommend this book for someone who is having gut issues and wants to get to the bottom of why? Or would you recommend another book to increase my knowledge?
Having dealt with it yourself, I thought you’d be fairly knowledgeable on it.
Thank you very much for your time and podcasts. I’m studying Nutrition, so loving the info and knowledge 🙂
Laura xx
Hey Laura,
Yes, The Body Ecology book is amazing but listen to Kirsty’s podcast and you will get loads of other gut healing tips in there. You can also check out all my favourite health books here.
xx
This episode is so flipping great. He’s magnetic and I’m so excited to follow you both as of today! My anxiety and stress is so high this week. THIS is what I needed to hear! Been eating high sugar lately to deal with my stress. Wicked cycle! Thank youuuu!!! ❤️ Life changing.
Hey Mel, this is my fav podcast by far, I have now listened to it 3 times, just wanting to know a bit more about the lauric acid that was talked about, do you know where to get this from? hr said it was really good for skin conditions.
thanks lovely xx
Hi Melissa, these podcasts are great! I’ve listened to a lot of them now and am very very keen to start healing my gut! But I am just feeling very overwhelmed with all the information and feeling very lost. Could you please give me some guidance on where should I start?
Thanks xxx
Hey honey,
Did you listen to my episode with Kirsty Wirth? Have a listen and let me know what you think.
xx
Literally just fell in love listening to this. Thank you
So – first of al I love you podcast and have heard all of them! But this one left me with a weird feeling…. Because – I am one of those 25 years old vegan girls who have a low percentage of body fat and acne…. I am vegan because of ethical reasons – and currently just cannot see myself consume any animal products (though i hear the podcast To meat or not to meat)…. Since you have been vegan – I would love to hear what you would do as alternatives to the animal products suggested. Again – thank you! I adore your book, podcast and blog 🙂
Hey Betina,
I don’t know what the alternatives are because I believe nothing can replace the nutrients you get from humanely raised, organic grass fed and grass finished animal products so maybe you could email and ask Daniel? He is the expert on this topic. What did you think of his episode?
I loved this episode Melissa – love love love – in this episode & the Donna Gates one, you speak abut the DNA Gene testing – do you recommend a particular clinic in Australia to have testing done? Thanks Karena xxxx
Hey Karena,
23 and Me are great. Check them out!
I cannot stress how enlightening this podcast was for me. After listening to the effects of sugar, I’ve realised that I’ve been doing the vegetarian lifestyle all wrong! Thank you for providing such clear and honest advice to common questions that we all have.
I never thought I would be the type to love podcasts, but I’ve nearly listened to all of yours, as they each change the way I think about my health and wellbeing.
So grateful,
Chelsea xx
Hey there! silly question but i want this gut micro biome test and gene test done. I have just started this ketosis lifestyle and am super pumped to get into my nutrition that right for my body not what is just ‘said’ to be ‘healthy’.
All the holistic doctors and naturopaths in Cairnes don’t know what I’m talking about when I’m asking if they provide this service, is their another name that i should use for these tests? Or anyone you recommend? I live on the Sunshine Coast as well if their is a good practitioner that does it their if you know of?
Thanks heaps! 🙂
Hey Amy,
Kirsty is on the Sunshine Coast too so email her asap. She will help you and point you in the right direction sista!
xx
Hi Melissa
I have recently started listening to your podcasts. I love them and the sound of your voice is so soothing 🙂
In the podcast with Crosby, you discussed how you don’t eat fruit and sugar and that perhaps it isn’t a good idea to combine fruits with other foods.
I have quite a healthy diet and try and include lots of healthy fats and minimal sugar but the no fruit part you discussed really intrigued me. I love fruit and dont feel the need to cut it out of my diet but I am interested if some fruits are better for your gut (I think Crosby mentioned low fructose) and what you personal eat instead of fruit for breakfast and in smoothies.
Is there somewhere that you have posted your day or week on a plate?
Hey honey, thanks for your comment. The best thing to do is read my ebook The Glow Kitchen. Have a read and let me know if you have any other questions. xx
Hi Melissa, I asolutely love your podcast and have been super inspired to fix up my gut health. I have a terrible immune system and would really like to work on fixing it. I live in Sydney and was wondering if you would be able to point me in the right direction of a naturopath that could help me out with testing and help me start this journey!
Thanks so so much for such inspirational and thought provoking podcasts!
Loz x
Hey Loz, I would highly recommend you reach out to Dr Stephen Cabral. I did a podcast with him here and he is the best I have found and who I’m currently work with. xx
Hi Melissa, it was indeed a great podcast! I learned a lot especially about our gut health. I’ve been a probiotic supplement user for over 1 year and haven’t experience any issues with it, so I reckon it really works. Anyways, thank you for the info! 🙂
Pleasure Stephanie. Keep up the awesome work. xx
