Body Image Detox With Tera Warner

(Subscribe on iTunesStitcher or TuneIn)

My wish is for every woman on the planet to know how truly beautiful and amazing they are. To look in the mirror and think, ‘I am enough’! But so many women don’t feel this way, and for many years, I didn’t either.

This is why I love Tera Warner’s work. She has dedicated her life to helping women become ‘Body Enlightened’.

Tera believes an over inflated emphasis on how women look stole the thunder from how they live. Her mission is to help women see through the haze of media-driven obsessions about the body to realize that the word “beauty” has always whispered the one thing we most need to do… ‘be you.’

If you are struggling to accept the skin you’re in, if you need to do a body image detox, and if you’re sick of looking in the mirror and scoffing at yourself, this episode is for you!

In this episode we chat about:

  • Why we are so obsessed with body image and what this is actually doing to us (04:58)
  • What is body enlightenment? (07:40)
  • How to take up space and be the most authentic version of yourself (12:27)
  • What to do if you’ve tried every mantra and read every self help book, but are still obsessed with your body (there is a way out!) (14:36)
  • Tera’s Springboard to Success method (and how to use it to design your dream life) (19:47)
  • How to detox your body image (22:10)
  • The real cost of your low self image and how it’s keeping you small (29:20)
  • How we can inspire and teach our daughters to not be focused on self image and to serve (35:27)
  • Plus so much more!

This podcast was incredible! I was on a walk when I was listening to it and luckily had my laptop with me so that I could fully engage in the think-do-feel-look-know exercise. What a game-changer! So many parts of this podcast resonated with me and I am so grateful that you chose to explore this subject because I too have had a rough time with my body. Keep doing what you are doing Melissa - you are a gem! All the love xx

Oh my goodness Melissa, i am beside myself with this episode- revelation after revelation!!!! Cant thank you & Tera enough for this beautiful well of knowledge.

After 8 years struggling with anorexia, general body dysmorphia & my mean girl literally ruling my world, the concept of looking outward and actually "living" as a means of connecting back inward in order to move through life, releasing yourself from your own shackles has never seemed more imperative until now!

This is such an important, overlooked concept & as someone who has as you noted "feels like they've read all the books on the shelf", this was a true game changer & yet another lightbulb moment.

Thankyou both, so much for this & Happy birthday for yesterday angel! x

Thank you for these podcast. I loved it!!! It really helped me!!
I stopped listening to your poqdcast because i felt like i was all the time doing something wrong....like not eating the right food or not exercising enough etc beside I live in argentina, and it is much more difficult to reach out for healthy foods, or for example a good maitresse or the bullet proff coffe por exapmple hahaha
I felt like i was never going to be able to reach for a helthier life...

Oh honey master that limiting Mean Girl belief because that is not true. Remember your words and thoughts are so powerful so be mindful what you say and think. Create a new belief and every time your Mean Girl go's to say that reframe it to your new belief. Give that a go for a week and let me know how you feel. x

I absolute love this episode Melissa and Tera!!! Has to be my favourite so far.

Was listening in my car as I was driving to visit my sister and it just gave me that light bulb moment! I have been stagnant in my personal self love development and now know its because I am all in my head (think, think, thinking) and not taking those exciting next steps.

Thank you so much beautiful ladies look forward to more intriguing podcasts!! xx

I'm all mushy and gushing with gratitude to see all of your comments, you beautiful spiritual ninjas! I felt this interview was such a jumbled mess of thoughts as I am just coming out of a long hibernation, but I am SO happy to know it was helpful to some of you and very much appreciate those who took the time to listen to this call.

MELISSA, you love rocket! Thank you for persisting and inviting me to share this time and space with you. You're such a radiant rockstar and I love watching you take up space!! xoxo

This episode is so beautiful - Tera had me in tears, it touched my soul & has made me shine light on my own dark night. The inward banter, the inner mean girl, the ego running away with the story - it was so refreshing to hear Tera talk about outward energy & the doing. This is what always breaks my cycle of self loathing & inner critic. Thank you Melissa for sharing this podcast - a body image detox needs to be available to all women & for their daughters too. So beautiful- thank you xxx

Another wonderful podcast Melissa. Fantastic! I first heard about Terra Werner when she was part of the WISH summit in 2011. This is also where I found out about Gabby Bernstein and Lynne Twist. Two other incredible humans, who you should definitely get on your show. I think Tera is the incredible, definitely helped me a lot through dealing with many major life issues. Her message about elevating consciousness really resonated with me. And I love her key words for living: think, do, feel, look, know. fantastic. blessings to you.

Loved this episode! Thank you so much, THINK, DO, FEEL, LOOK, KNOW so so simple yet so amazingly powerful.
I have spent so much time thinking and not DOING and then hating on myself for my health and body and thought process. Today was my first day of my new routine and I was listening to this episode while on the exercise bike and it just made everything so much more clear. So thank you both! xo

It was so good to listen to this podcast! Tera is amazing, and all she shared on this chat was so heart felt. I am currently in recovery from an eating disorder, and I'm finding the most difficult thing to change is my negative body image. But Tera was so inspirational! Thank you for having her on the show! <3

Isn't she amazing? I am so glad it resonated for you honey. Remember you got this sista and you're amazing just as you are. xx
