Luxury

Noun: A state of great comfort or elegance.

In an interview the other day I was asked, ‘What does luxury mean to you?’

The question took me by surprise because to be honest, I have never thought about it! When we hear the word ‘luxury’ most people’s minds jump straight to 5-star hotels, expensive champagne, fancy cars and big boats… but to me, luxury is different.

To me, luxury is the stuff that makes my soul sing and my cells dance. The rituals that make my spirit feel cherished and honoured. The tiny actions and sensations that make me feel like a full-blown goddess…

So my version of luxury?

An epsom salt bath, complete with my favorite relaxing essential oil blend (lavender, lavender peace, and franky) diffusing right next to me.

Waking up to the sun hitting my eyelids with no alarm.

Not jumping out of bed first thing in the morning and instead, laying there and soaking up the cuddles with my honey.

Listening to my hubby’s epic music with my eyes closed.

Walking barefoot in nature.

Listening to the birds sing or the waves crash as I meditate.

Feeling the sun kiss my full nudie skin.

Shaving my legs and then giving myself a full-body self-love massage with rose, jasmine and franky essential oils.

Getting a massage.

Not rushing… mmmm, full luxury right there!

Reading and holding an actual book in my hands.

Doing mindful coloring in, just because.

Cooking my favorite goodies or my gut-friendly chocolate brownie and being in the kitchen.

Eating delicious food and smacking my lips whilst making orgasmic noises to reflect the party going on in my mouth.

Sipping herbal tea in the sunshine with my feet on the grass.

A loooonnnng soulful catch up over lunch or dinner with people I love, without having to rush off.

Luxury is the stuff that makes my soul sing and my cells dance.

What’s luxury to you? Create your own ‘luxury list’ and stick it on your fridge. Then aim to do one thing off the list each day. Because seriously: Why wait for a holiday or the weekend to treat yourself?! Dial up your worthy-o-meter and treat yourself every single day. You deserve it. You are worthy of it. Master that inner Mean Girl and do it. You don’t know how much longer you are here on earth for, so soak it up and go for it. I give you full permission to revel in whatever feels luxurious to you.
