Creative energy is innate within us all. It’s not reserved for the ‘more talented, or ‘gifted’ peeps. Creativity swims through everyone’s veins and when suppressed can manifest in the body as dis-ease. Which is why I am so excited to bring to you today this creativity masterclass with my talented musician, producer and entrepreneur hubby.
Creativity
noun.
The use of imagination or original ideas to create something; inventiveness.
Nick is one of the most creative beings I know, and even though I spend every day with him, what he shared in this interview blew my mind! Possibly my favourite interview ever.
I can’t wait for you to dive in!
In this interview with Nick Broadhurst, aka BROADHURST, you will learn…
- The specific routines that turbocharge both mine and Nick’s productivity and creativity.
- How to redefine what creativity means to you, freeing you from the social dogma and personal expectations, allowing you to truly explore your own creative genius.
- The biggest road block we all experience that you need to overcome first before you harness your creativity.
- What the ‘Little Lover Remixes’ (which are being released today) taught Nick about creative flow.
- PLUS much more!
And now an exclusive premiere for the MA tribe… the incredible behind the scenes making of Little Lover!
I just love when an artist (or anyone for that matter) pulls back the curtain on their creative process and shares from the heart with no censoring. It’s incredibly humbling to see how much love, work and thought goes into creating great art.
I am also bursting with excitement because I know you are going to dance your buns off and sing your lungs out to these epic remixes of Little Lover which have just been released today. And because Nick loves you as much as I do, he decided to premiere the remixes right here exclusively to you before anyone in the world hears them. How epic is that!
So, let’s honour and give this incredible human some love by…
Thank you for this, such a juicy session!
As you both were talking about showing up and attracting rather than pushing, it reminded me of the saying “The flower does not dream of the bee. It blooms and the bee comes.” X
beautiful guys x
Thank-you for sharing!! This interview was the best!! Love hearing how you both get into your creative zone. Being in the design industry I can relate to so much of what you said. For me listening to music I find is one of my biggest motivators to get into that creative space. So awesome to see the behind the scenes of your film clip!! Both of you so talented. Feeling inspired 🙂
Wow. Perfect timing. My darling son starts filming the first part of his music video today for his HSC major work and he watched this and said it was ‘deeply moving’ and inspired him for today. Thank you so much. He wants to write to Nick himself, what would be the best way?
Great news Justine and good luck to your son.
Feel free to leave a comment here and I will make sure Nick responds directly to him 😉
xx
You are more than beautiful together. I can see how much you inspire each others in your life.
Amazing!
i watched the masterclass. Some very good tips, and thanks for sharing.
i currently start my day with a “create your day ” process of positive affirmations, as taught by R.S.E..
However , after a serious injury a couple of months ago, i am re-evaluating all processes and techniques.
I think I am looking for a more personal dialogue with ” God”
Instead of being part of a group, and applying techniques taught to the group by a teacher, I am looking for a more personal relationship with “God”.
I am currently feeling my way through this new approach.
Thanks again.
Firstly wow and thank you. Thank you for this über motivating interview.
It took me nearly 2 hours to make my way through the whole video and not because I was getting bored. I had to keep stopping to either write something down or look something up.
My top three favourite messages in this interview are:
1 – find you’re own version of being creative and be ok with it
2 – experiment with you’re own creative process and find the best ways that get you in a good zone or ‘flow’
3 – reverse engineering or ‘chunking’ things down is a great way to achieve a big dream in doable baby steps
I also loved watching you guys discuss, listen to one another and share your different (yet complementary) insights on your creative processes.
As a freelance writer and food enthusiast, one thing that helps me get in my creative zone is getting up, showered and walked, regardless of how I feel. Feeling clean and energised really helps me focus more on my task at hand and really throw myself into whatever task i’m diving into that day.
Thanks again!
Matilda
Nick, Little Lover is such a beautiful piece of music. Your voice is so easy to listen to and you have created an amazing song. Keep sharing your creativity and your gift with the world. Love the video!
Thanks also for sharing your wisdom and experiences when chatting to Melissa. Thanks to you both for your sage advice.
You two are gorgeous!
Love this video, thank you both so much. Best takeaway was recognising when you are in your flow. Those moments when time passes by and everything seems so natural. I really want to focus more on getting in this zone and less on pushing myself in the areas I feel like I ‘should’ be in.
Wow, totally blown away right now. Seeing behind the scenes is magical. Thank you so much for sharing this special time with us.
You guys have got me pumped, now I’m off to bring out my creative flare! Watch out 😉
Hello beautiful Mel & Nick,
Thank you for sharing this brilliant, funny and totally inspiring Master Class. I loved watching you too in motion, I got so much wonderful inspiration from watching you. Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom together.
Love you both dearly,
Emma Jean xxx
You are so welcome angel. We LOVE you <3
Have shared and shared again.
Including to my close friend and yoga teacher who I thought would love Little Lover as the perfect additional to her playlist for our yoga class.
We watched it and listened to it again with tears in our eyes, completely at a standstill, mesmerised and moved.
WHEN IS THE ALBUM COMING OUT!!
The creativity master class as always, with all your posts has come at the most perfect time.
Thank you.x
You are too sweet. Album coming soon honey, hold tight sista!
My partner and I fell in love with “Little Lover” the moment we heard it when it was released! So much so we are going to be dancing our first dance to it in just a few weeks on our wedding day.
You are both such talented and gifted people thank you for sharing with us all 🙂
Xx
How beautiful! Please tag us in your wedding pic’s so we can see you guys 😉
xx
Melissa!
This is just beautiful. Thanks for sharing. There is so much I took away from this. Have you always been such a good listener? You reminded me that I can do much better with this! I have a tendency to interrupt and relate what other people are sharing back to myself! Eek! I loved watching how present you were while listening. Also, have you read Big Magic? I think you’d enjoy this.
Hey Stephaine,
Thank you so much for your kind words.
No, I haven’t always been a good listening because I wasn’t present. But it is something I have consciously been working on for a few years now and still work on it daily. Commit to working on it yourself and see how you go.
And yes I have read Big Magic and LOVED it! Thanks for thinking of me 😉
Wow…I just listened to Little Lover- phenomenal. Nick- what a loss it would have been to this world if you hadn’t continued to pursue your deepest passion of creating music. Thank you to you both for sharing this interview. Truly inspired as myself listen to my body that is screaming at me to leave my “real job” and pursue my vision to work with like minded people to create beauty, pioneer change and bring hope. Be blessed x
This is such a great interview, got so much from it! Definately feeling inspired now to create some sort of morning routine…I kind of know that’s what’s been missing and this has really highlighted it for me. I have struggled to see how I could create anything since having my son 3 years ago but I now see I need to do things step by step and good start is getting that morning a bit more organized!! 🙂
Really love little lover…haunting beautiful and stays in your head for hours/days after listening to it. Remixes are awesome too! Look forward to hearing more music from Nick soon
