When you were born, you were perfect and free. But for most of us, this blissful state didn’t last long… Somewhere along the way, ‘life’ happened and we armoured up, developed survival mechanisms, and got disconnected from who we truly are. Though it might not seem like it at times, we ALL have the power to break free from these self-appointed shackles and reconnect with our truth at ANY time. And today’s podcast guest, Kute Blackson — a leading visionary in the field of personal development — has helped thousands of individuals do exactly that.
Kute Blackson is the real deal. A transformational teacher and leader in the consciousness space, he offers a fresh, bold look at spiritual awareness for a whole new generation. His unique lineage — spanning four continents, and straddling cultural divides — has led to his inimitable approach to breaking down barriers and unlocking an individual’s true gifts and greatness.
With high profile fans like John Gray (author of Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus) and Larry King (Emmy and Peabody winning talk-show host) this is a soul-fuelled next-gen leader who’s fast on the rise… and I couldn’t be more grateful that he sat down to chat with me for today’s episode.
If you want a practical, so-damn-inspiring take on how to uncover your life’s true purpose, discover the real you, and love with your whole heart… this conversation is for you.
In this episode we chat about:
- His inspiring story from speaking on stage at age 8, to being ordained at 14, to where he is today — inspiring millions of people all over the world (06:41)
- The biggest thing blocking you from living your dream life (which so many people aren’t even aware of) (19:35)
- How to unlock your full potential (20:47)
- Why he didn’t speak to his father for 2 years (21:11)
- Why no one owes you anything (and how to embrace radical responsibility in your day to day life) (22:42)
- The two essential steps for creating true freedom (25:54)
- The common trap (that’s so easy to fall into) that keeps you stuck and unable to move forward (27:39)
- Real talk: are you lying to yourself? (28:35)
- How to quit being busy and start creating space in your life (30:26)
- The simple yet powerful morning routine that sets him up for success every day (34:55)
- The unexpected thing that he attributes his success to (41:33)
- The biggest thing he is working on within himself (53:52)
- Plus so much more!

Hi Melissa,

Hey Anita, I am so glad it deeply resonated and you were so moved. Thanks for the suggestions I will check him out. xx
Wow! Just wow! This podcast was incredible. Thank you so much Melissa and Kute for sharing with us.
You’re welcome Rhianna. So glad you loved it as much as I did. xx
Beautiful Melissa
I love your podcasts but this one with Kute was simply amazing I was on a long drive from Auckland to Taupo (4hours). I got so much out of it I had to listen to it a second time pullover over the car to start the episode again. I love non negotiable habits and have now instituted them in my daily life. So many parts of this podcast hit me deep in my soul and are staying with me. I am going to order his book which along with your 2 will go into my reading pile. I am half way through open wide and it is amazing, I have a magical man who I have been with for 20 years and married to for 18 years and our partnership is so blessed and amazing and we are loving the open wide book we are both reading it and will leave a review when I have finished it
Much love and blessings
Jane xx
WOW thank you so much Jane. I am so happy for you and your man. What are your tips for an epic partnership?
Unlock your full potential with Kute Blackson is simply life changing! Do yourself a massive favour, go for a walk and listen to this incredibly insightful, genuine and remarkable man generously talk about his life and how we too can live an authentic, beautiful existence. I didn’t stop walking until the last second of this podcast! All the content was so relatable, so doable, so wonderful. We need more of these conversations shared amongst us. I loved this, I truly, truly loved it. Thank you Melissa and Kute. Much love to you both xx
You’re so welcome Simone. I am just do glad it resonated so deeply and I agree we need more converstations like this shared amongst us and it all starts with us. xx
Firstly, THANK YOU Melissa for this podcast. For connecting with Kute and bringing this incredible visionary to your tribe. I was enthralled throughout the entire interview and connected deeply with everything that you two discussed, especially the lies we tell ourselves..
I have been on my own spiritual journey through personal development and wellness for about six years now (when I first discovered your site – thanks for that by the way!), and every once in a while a spiritual mentor speaks my language and this was it.
I am diving into as much of Kute’s work as I can find, and also finally reading the Alchemist (now that I’ve finished Open Wide – amazing btw).
So much gratitude, D xox
Hey Dom, thank you so much for your comment and kind words about Open Wide. I am so glad it deeply resonated. Please leave me a review on Amazon if it feels true for you and enjoy diving into Kute’s work. xx
This was one of the most powerful podcast episodes I have ever listened too. It was exactly what I needed to hear as I wade through my own period of personal growth, trust and transformation in my life. Thank you Melissa and Kute for being the voices of love and life ❤️ I took so many notes that I plan to look over daily to keep myself focused and on track with letting life unfold and letting go of control.
I am so glad it resonated so deeply honey. Keep shining sista. xx
Wow wow WOW! I listened to this this morning and am beyond inspired. Thank you Melissa and Kute for pouring into me (and the universe!) so much!
Pleasure honey. What are your top 3 key takeaways?
Oh beautiful, you have done it again with another deliciously fabulous guest. I have not heard of Kute and thank you so much for introducing me to him. I really loved the conversation with him, along with your intriguing questions for him. Through out the interview, I had watery eyes many times.
The biggest thing I got out of the interview was to check in and be R E A L L Y honest with myself. It hit deep in my soul. That isn’t always easy and he offered such a beautiful acceptance with admitting that being scared and not doing anything in a particular moment is completely all right.
That is pure TRUTH and pure LOVE. Just WOW! And so inspiring, my body and mind is tingling.
I am so glad it deeply resonated honey. Isn’t he amazing! I was just with him in LA and he is even better in real life. xx
Hi Melissa
i am emailing from the UK and love listening to your pod casts, they are full of interesting information that really, really resonate with me. I feel alive and informed after listening and love looking up things related to each talk. I listened recently to the recent ‘Is your food making you sick’ podcast, this was very good. Something I felt I wanted to share was, a few times you referred to how do people not know about GM foods and that the better options are to buy from organic farmer markets, buy organic in shops or grow your own. I agree it is important to know these things, knowledge is power. However, I do feel you fail to gently acknowledge that many people can not afford organic food. I work with families in need and many simply can not afford food let alone organic. I appreciate that there is a time and a place for saying things like this and perhaps your podcast is not one of them. However, I do feel it came across as a bit dismissive of the general population who would love to eat less chemical food, but money is a huge issue and the cost of food. To acknowledge this at least shows a perspective of what the majority of the population do go through. I hope you don’t mind me sharing this and wanted to say overall thank you for all you inform me on-great job! Warm wishes Natalie
Hey Natalie, thank you so much for your comment. Great point and I will make sure I address it next time. I am sorry if I offended or upset you that was never my intention. My intention is always to educate and inspire people. I hope you could still feel that. All my love. xx
It’s really a nice and helpful piece of info. I’m glad that you shared this useful information with us. Please keep us informed like this. Thanks for sharing.
