Last week at church (you can hear my returning-to-church story here), the pastor said something that hit me right in the heart…
Be slow to anger.
Quick to forgive.
This is the Godly way.
Oof.
Let that land…
Be slow to anger.
Quick to forgive.
How many times are you quick to anger and slow to forgive?
Don’t worry—my hand is raised too. But I don’t want to be that way. I want to be slow to anger and quick to forgive.
It’s a daily commitment. And to be honest, when you’re tired, it’s so easy to go straight to anger—especially when your kids are losing it.
But this is the practice.
This is the meditation.
This is the Godly way.
So write this on a Post-it. Set reminders on your phone. Stick it on your fridge. Let this be your mantra for the week—until it’s so deeply embodied in your cells that you no longer have to think about it. It just becomes who you are.
That’s the goal.
Slow to anger.
Quick to forgive.
Embody it… and watch your life change for the better.
All my love,
Melissa (slow to anger, quick to forgive) Ambrosini
