.....

Lots of people think that to achieve big goals, you need superhuman levels of motivation.

But here’s a truth-bomb for you: successful people don’t actually rely on motivation.

They’ve tapped into something that’s way more reliable, and that won’t desert them at a moment’s notice…

Their superpower is consistency.

So let’s talk about how to cultivate this wildly underrated skill.

There’s a big myth that many of us have unknowingly bought into: that we need to be “in the mood” in order to take action on our goals.

Think about it: how many times have you told yourself, “I’m just not feeling it today — I’ll start tomorrow”?

It’s a common trap, one that has probably stalled more dreams than we can count.

But high achievers don’t do this. They don’t wait to feel motivated or for the perfect moment to arrive. They just show up — to the gym, their desk, their piano, their, wherever they need to be, regardless of how they feel.

Of course, there’s nuance here. If you’re dealing with burnout or struggling with your health, it’s crucial to address those issues at the root level.

But if it’s simply a matter of “not feeling like it,” then it’s time to change your mindset.

Because here’s the thing:

If you can stop making your mood a prerequisite for taking action and start practicing consistency instead, you’ll unlock a whole new world of results.

What To Do When You’re Not Making Progress

One of the hardest times to stay consistent is when it feels like you’re putting in the work day after day, but nothing seems to be happening.

We’ve all been there — it’s frustrating, it sucks, and it can make you question if you’re on the right path.

But here’s the thing: just because the results aren’t showing up yet does NOT mean your efforts aren’t working.

Nine times out of ten, it’s not your strategy that’s broken; it’s your patience. Most of us give up way too soon. Sometimes, you just need to buckle up and ride out the rough patches.

It’s also helpful to make peace with plateaus.

Plateaus a real and natural part of any journey, whether your goal is around fitness, health business, whatever. Progress isn’t a straight line — it’s more like a jagged staircase, and those dreaded plateaus are the flat spots where you’re gearing up for your next big leap.

So, when you hit a plateau, please don’t let it derail you. And don’t let it take you by surprise.

Spot it for what it is — a pit stop on your journey — and keep on trucking.

Mindset Shift: Embrace the Process

Embracing the process is all about focusing on the step right in front of you, not just the finish line.

It means focusing on the quality of today’s workout, even if your PB isn’t budging. Or focusing on today’s marketing efforts, even if your sales numbers haven’t changed yet.

I want to be real with you here: embracing the process isn’t always glamorous. Sometimes, it’s even downright boring.

But here’s the kicker — 90% of the time, the boring stuff is where the true magic is created. ✨

Hot Take: Consistency does NOT mean daily action. It *can* mean that, but that’s not the ONLY thing it means. I’ve always been a pretty disciplined person (I think from my dancing days), and in the past, I’ve definitely talked about showing up every single day. But ever since I had my daughter, I’ve realized that consistency can look like different things for different people. Your version of consistency might mean taking action on the 3 days each week that you’ve got childcare, or it might mean committing to 4 hours of writing per week, fit in wherever you can that works with the season of life you are in and please don’t be hard on your beautiful self. Whatever you do, DON’T let someone else’s version of consistency make you feel bad about your own. Consistency is about what works for YOU. It’s about finding what fits your life, your rhythm, your season, your style — and owning it.

5 Smart, Creative Tips to Build Your Habit of Consistency

  1. Start small. I’ve been guilty of diving into goals like I’m about to conquer the world, only to hit a wall fast. Trust me, small, steady steps are your best friend here.
  2. Anchor your actions to a ritual. Whether it’s a cup of tea before writing or a quick dance party before working out, these little cues can jolt your brain into action mode.
  3. Set a timer for short, focused bursts of work. I love the Pomodoro Technique, which involves working for 25 minutes, then taking a 5-minute break, then repeating. It’s a great way to get yourself moving (and making progress) without feeling overwhelmed.
  4. Keep a journal or a habit tracker to record your actions. Seeing your consistency laid out in front of you is a powerful reminder of how far you’ve come, even if the big results are not yet flowing.
  5. Celebrate your consistency. Whether it’s treating yourself to something fun after a week of showing up or planning a bigger reward for hitting a milestone, acknowledging your efforts will help reinforce the habit.
The Bottom Line

Your goals don’t need you to be perfect, endlessly motivated, or have every star lined up. What they need is a bit of good, old-fashioned consistency.

So, here’s the deal: keep showing up. Keep moving, keep trying, keep believing beautiful.

Because that life you’ve been dreaming of? It’s not a distant hope. It’s closer than you think. And every small step is bringing you right to it.

You’ve got this, Beautiful! ✨
