Each week I’ll be getting up close and personal with thought leaders from around the globe, as well as your weekly dose of motivation so that you can create epic change in.

Your own life and become the best version of yourself possible. Are you ready? Beautiful. Beautiful.

Hey, beautiful. Welcome back to the show. Today I wanna talk to you about the power of doing the inner work. Now I have been on this journey. My inward spiritual journey since October, 2010 is when I ended up in hospital at Rock Bottom and everything [00:01:00] shifted for me from there. And that is when I began the inner healing work.

And what I know for sure is that. The inner work never ends. And the more we do, the better every area of our life becomes. Our business flows better, our relationships flow better. We become a better parent, and we love ourselves so much more deeply. So it is so important that we do this inner. Work, and it’s not just for healing, but it’s for creating an aligned, abundant, and joy filled life.

Okay, so today I wanna pull back the curtains on what the inner work really means, why most people avoid it, and how it can radically transform your life, like I said, from your relationships to your health, to your business, to your success, everything. So firstly, let’s [00:02:00] just talk about what is the inner work.

You might have heard people talk about shadow work or limiting beliefs, or inner childhood healing, or childhood patterns, or subconscious programming or emotional healing. It’s basically dealing with what is going on within you, the stories that you tell yourself, the reactions, the feelings of control, anger, whatever it is.

That is the inner work. And I wanna remind you that we are not doing this work to fix you because you’re broken. You are not broken. Beautiful. You are whole. You are complete. You are amazing just as you are. And we are born into this world as beautiful, whole, amazing beings and things happen in our life that program us usually not in a positive way.

And so we need to unprogram that. So this is what I’m talking about. This is not about fixing you because you’re broken. This is about enhancing you [00:03:00] and your experience here on Earth, and it’s about remembering who you truly are, which is a whole complete worthy, amazing, unconditional love being. Okay? So please remember that.

So why is this so important that we do this work? Well, the inner work is the root cause solution, so. External success without the inner alignment leads to burnout, sabotage, and unhappiness. Okay? If we keep living our life and not doing the inner work, we will keep hitting the same sort of road bumps over and over again.

Until we look at the stories that we’re telling ourselves, the reactions that we’re having on default, then we will keep replaying the same sort of situations in our life. Maybe it is continuously dating the same sort of unavailable guy, or people taking advantage of us in our business, or whatever it is.

Okay? So we need to do this in a work. It is essential. [00:04:00] And when you do this powerful work. You will be upleveling your nervous system for more peace and presence. You’ll be opening yourself up to more abundance. You will be healing patterns in your relationships, in your friendships, in your love. This work is so powerful and it is essential.

So the thing is, is we can’t really avoid it. Well, you can. You know that saying ignorance is bliss and you can take the red pill or the blue pill. The thing is you can try and be ignorant to it and try and avoid it, but eventually it will present itself to you. And what kind of life do you want to live?

Like? I want to live an abundant, beautiful life. Like I wanna get to the end and say, I played full out. I gave it my everything. I squeezed the most juice out of this precious life. I wanna get to the end and be able to say that. I don’t wanna have any regrets. I wanna be like I played full [00:05:00] out. Okay? So at some point you will be faced with the opportunity to do the inner healing work for huge transformation in your life, and we want that opportunity to come from you and not from from the diagnosis or the divorce or the bankruptcy.

So choose to do the inner work now. Okay. I see a lot of people avoid it, and a couple of reasons why they avoid it is because it’s uncomfortable. It’s raw, it requires deep honesty, and we have been conditioned to look outside of ourselves for the answers that the doctors have, the answers that authorities have the answers, but ultimately we have the answers within.

Okay, so. We need to stop looking outside of ourselves for the answers and look within yes. And avoiding this inner work, it only [00:06:00] prolongs the pain. It only prolongs the times that you keep dating the same sort of guy, or you keep hitting these business roadblocks, or you keep experiencing these same friendships that are tearing you down, or you keep butting your head against these same health issues.

It is only prolonging the pain. Now doing the inner work, it liberates you. It completely liberates you. Okay, so it is a lifelong journey. So jump on, jump in, jump on the train. Let’s do it together. Yes, let’s do it. Let’s cheer each other on. Let’s support each other and remember that everyone is doing the best they can.

So I wanna share with you a couple of ways of how you can start doing this inner healing work. One thing you can do is you can get a coach. That is an amazing way to hold you accountable, to have someone reflect back to you, maybe some blind spots. [00:07:00] You could even do this with a friend, like you could be accountability buddies with somebody.

You could start journaling and I’m gonna give you a couple of journaling prompts. I want you to write these down or type them in your notes section of your phone. I feel I’m avoiding the pattern that keeps repeating is. They are just a couple of journal prompts for you. This will start to open you up to the inner work.

Okay, so journaling is a great one. You could just do a little bit in the morning and a little bit in the evening. Just commit to like one page or one sentence. Just start there. Meditation and breathing deeply. When you sit in stillness, in silence, breathe deeply and meditate, stuff comes to the surface.

This is a great way to see what is coming up for you. The feelings, anger, [00:08:00] resentment, anxiety, whatever it is, this is an invitation to go in and it is a peak at what is bubbling up within you. So meditation is a powerful one. Start with a few deep breaths, box breathing. You can do a mantra based meditation or listen to a guided meditation.

I’ve got a whole bunch on my website if you wanna listen to some of those. And then when you finish your meditation, sit, grab your journal and journal what comes up. Another beautiful thing you can do is an inner child healing meditation, where you, after your meditation, you go and knock on your bedroom door from when you were six or seven or eight.

And inside your bedroom door is you, when you were six or seven or eight, whatever age resonates with you, and you’re sitting on your bed, or maybe you are playing and you as your adult self is standing at the door and you walk in and you go and sit next to your younger self [00:09:00] and you have a conversation with that beautiful little version of yourself.

What does she say? How is she toward you? Is she standoffish? Is she open and receptive? What does she say? Really, listen, and this might go on for 10 minutes or 20 minutes, however long, and when you finish your interaction with her, you can tell her that you love her, that you are always with her. You can play with her, do whatever you need to do, and then give her a big hug and a kiss and you can leave.

And then I want you to journal about that experience. What came up for you? What did she say? How was her body language? This is such a powerful exercise that I have been doing at the end of my meditations. It is so powerful. So they are a couple of things that you can do, and I wanna remind you that this is one of those times where consistency [00:10:00] is key every day.

And I’m not saying you have to sit for an hour, even if. You only have five minutes to drop in. That is better than nothing. It is consistency, okay, over intensity. But I promise you, the more consistent you are, the more that you show up for yourself, for your inner child, the better. Always. This inner work is not for the fainthearted, but it is for the people who want to live their most truest, authentic life aligned.

They wanna live a big, beautiful life. They wanna get to the end of their life and say, I played full out. This is for that person, not for the faint of heart, but it is so worth it. I’ve never ever regretted a coaching therapy session or a meditation or a journaling session. I have never gone. I regret that [00:11:00] always.

Good has come. It has definitely been uncomfortable. There have been tears. There have been all of that, but I’ve never, ever regretted doing the inner work. It has only expanded every area of my life. My relationships are better, my friendships are better. My relationship with my children is better. My marriage is better, my work is better.

My health is better. I love myself more. I am happier. When I do this work, the beauty and freedom that comes from doing the inner work is worth it, and you are worthy of that deep love. The transformation, the healing, the alignment that you crave, you are worth it all. Never forget that. And if you have children, remember that they were born, they came into this world as whole, beautiful beings.

And the more we do the work on ourself, [00:12:00] the more that is going to remind them of the truth of who they are, which is unconditional love, pure bliss. So I hope that this has reminded you of the beauty of who you are, the inner power that you have, and how essential it is to go within. I hope you got a lot out of this.
