Hey beautiful! Lately, I’ve been having some really great conversations about marketing with my clients, and we’ve been sharing mindset shifts, surprising strategies, [00:01:00] and stuff that’s working for us right now. Now, I’m not one to gatekeep, so I thought I’d share the best ones with you, totally mixed bag style.
So let’s dive in. So what is working right now in marketing? Okay. The first thing is giving your Instagram profile a makeover. When was the last time you refreshed your Instagram bio or any of your bios on any of your platforms or the about me section? Now this is such a low hanging fruit, yet you’d be surprised how frequently people overlook it.
Now, a good starting point is to make sure that you have addressed three things, okay? So you want to address clearly what you do and who you help. Always aim for clarity here rather than being cute or clever or with woo woo language. Literally spell it out. I help female coaches and consultants. Get to six and seven figures in their business without burning out.
Clear, simple, you know [00:02:00] exactly what I do. Don’t use unicorn, fluffy language, and don’t put things in there that are not relevant to your dream client. Things like dog lover. How is that relevant? Unless you have a dog walking company or you own a dog food company or something like that, do not put things in there that are not relevant to your dream client and that a woo woo or cutesy wootsy or things like that.
So that is the first one. Second one is your profile photo on brand. Now your profile photo should build your no lack and trust factor at a glance. If it’s appropriate for your industry, a picture where you’re smiling while making good eye contact is a shortcut for building trust and likeability. Okay.
People look at you and they go, Oh, she’s friendly. She’s warm or he’s friendly. He’s warm. And that’s what they want. Okay. So that’s the second thing. The third thing is, have you got a clear call to action? People who are reading your bio want to dig deeper into your work. If someone is reading your bio, [00:03:00] that means they’re interested.
So make sure you tell them clearly how to take action. What is the next thing? Book a call with you or join your program, whatever it is, but always have a clear call to action. Okay. So giving your Instagram profile, actually all of your social media profiles and makeover is such an amazing marketing tool that you can do right now.
Okay, let’s move on to the next one. Remember the rule of seven. So I have a question for you. Are you worried? That you are not getting enough traction with your marketing. If you are, I want you to remember the rule of seven on average, people need to interact with your business at least seven times before they trust you enough to make a purchase seven times.
So if it feels like you are shouting into the void with your marketing, keep this in mind. You could be on interaction number six for a heap of highly aligned, high quality dream clients. So keep going, beautiful. Keep [00:04:00] going. Remember the rule of seven and you got this. All right, number three, engage, don’t just broadcast.
Too often we think of social media as a megaphone blasting our message out into the world, hoping someone will listen, but the actual secret source to social media growth, it is engagement. Start treating social media like a two way street. Respond to comments, ask your followers questions and jump into conversations.
In the comments and in your DMS. Okay. This isn’t about pushing your message. It’s about building authentic relationships, which are key for a successful business. And guess what? The more you engage, the more your audience grows to know and trust you, which is absolute gold for your business and your bottom line.
Okay. So I’ve got a little hot tip for you. Set aside 10 minutes twice a day to engage with posts in your niche. Comment, like, and interact genuinely offering value to other people and watch how this simple habit [00:05:00] amplifies your reach and deepens your connections. Okay. All right. The next one is avoid content burnout.
So many entrepreneurs think that once they’ve created a piece of content, that it’s lazy or bad to reuse or repurpose it, but it’s not, it is actually smart. Yes, it is smart. And I teach my clients this. Not only does it save you time and energy, so you can avoid that content burnout, it also allows you to be effortlessly consistent with your marketing, which will instantly put you at the top 2 percent of content creators.
Okay. So stop letting your old content gather digital dust and give it a refresh. You can update old blog posts with new data insights or graphics. This not only revitalizes your content for new visitors, but also boosts your SEO as search engines love fresh, updated content. You can also find your three highest performing social posts from three to six months ago, [00:06:00] tweak them in some way, maybe a new image or a different video or an updated caption and repost it, babe.
If it worked, repost it. And then repurpose your content across all platforms. Turn your newsletter into a podcast, into a YouTube video, into social posts, into blog posts and so on, okay? Don’t just post something once and then forget about it. Reuse it, repurpose it, my friend, okay? And then I’ve got a couple of other little tips for you.
I want you to never use the word newsletter in your subject line. Research shows that open rates drop a staggering 18. 7 percent when the word newsletter is in your subject line. Pretty interesting. Hey, next hot tip for you. The number of shares is one of the most important engagement metrics for the Instagram algorithm.
And the most shared type of content on the app is reels. So making highly shareable reels is still [00:07:00] one of the best ways to explode your following. And then the third hot tip for you is on Instagram, carousel posts have the highest engagement rate for business accounts, which is just mind blowing. So have you thought about adding some carousels to your feed? If not, maybe have a think about it. So there you have it, my friend, what is working in marketing right now?
