Right now the way we are treating Mother Earth means that our children and our children’s children may not experience the beauty we get to witness today. I want to be more of a voice for Mamma Earth because first and foremost change starts with us. We CAN make a difference and there’s no better person than today’s podcast guest Josh Tickell to tell help us understand what we can all be doing to make a real difference.

Josh is a journalist, futurist, author, and award-winning film director whose movies (Fuel, The Big Fix, Pump and Good Fortune) have been shortlisted for Academy Awards, shown in the White House, won awards at the Sundance Film Festival, and have been viewed by over 50 million people worldwide. His first book, From the Fryer to the Fuel Tank, jump started the biodiesel movement and raised billions of dollars for the algae fuel industry. And his second book ‘Kiss the Ground – How the Food You Eat Can Reverse Climate Change, Heal Your Body & Ultimately Save Our World’ is out now and his message needs to be heard by all because we can ALL be agents for change, we can ALL make a difference and we ALL need to work together to preserve our precious Mamma Earth.

    Wow, Melissa
Firstly, thank you so much for your podcast…it’s immensely inspiring, I´ve been downloading it and binge listening it on my daily commute to work. This morning I heard the podcast by dr. Stephen Cabral which absolutely blew my mind, because I completely believe in this holistic view when it comes to your body and the importance of gut microbiome as well, and that conventional and alternative medicine should learn from each other way more…and to me this podcast with Josh Tickell was particularly inspiring (I listened to this one on the way back) because I am a plant scientist, and I’ve spent my entire life studying soil, microorganisms and also ecology and climate change. I often compare plant roots to our gut, and a healthy soil microbiome to a healthy gut microbiome, so listening to both these podcasts in the same day, even though most people would think they have absolutely nothing to do with one another, inspires me like crazy. I’m currently employed for a company that produces organic and conventional fertilizers, but I don’t believe in them at all…the conventional way of adding NPK (the big elements) to our soils as a quick fix for plants to grow as fast and as big as possible has thoroughly depleted and impoverished soils as well as deteriorated their CO2-binding capacity and the microorganisms in them. Not to mention that the produce we eat nowadays is way lower in nutrients than it used to be (a result of both breeders breeding for taste instead of nutrients and the agricultural regime)! Long story short, this show hit a ton of notes for me, because I so believe that we can integrate health, soil health and healthy produce and achieve a healthy planet all at once! I have been toying with the idea of applying my knowledge as a microbiologist/soil/plant scientist to follow the thought leaders stepping away from this NPK-quick fix belief that is damaging our planet, our produce and us, and after listening to this I am so motivated to do so! I have to sit on this idea for a bit, but I am definitely going to take this to the next level. Thank you and your inspiring guests so much. You are amazing!

WOWZA! Loooved this so so much. I saw this book in the bookstore the other day and was like “OOOOooo this looks pretty fantastic” and then today I finally listened to this podcast and boy howdy I cannot WAIT to get stuck in the book now. A serious game changer of an episode! I have shared to everyone and anyone who will listen is hearing about it. Thanks for having Josh on. Just when I think your podcast can’t get any better you blow me away again. I’m currently running a program with about 100 people in my local area on clean eating and this has just been added to their weekly homework. Thanks again for the epic podcasts, week in, week out! xx
