com forward slash 587. Now let’s dive in.
Caitlin, it’s so wonderful to have you here, but before we dive in, can you tell us what you had for breakfast this morning? Sure. For breakfast this morning I had an
Caitlin: egg, I had a piece of gluten free rice toast, and some cottage
Melissa: cheese. I love hearing how people start [00:03:00] their days. I just think it’s so fascinating, like, the different spectrum of things that people eat.
I just love it. It’s awesome. So, um, I want to dive deep into your origin story first because you were first introduced to energy healing when it saved your life at the age of 25. Can you tell us what happened and what drew you to energy healing as a profession?
Caitlin: Yeah, so it’s kind of a long story, but the bottom line is that I went out for my birthday with my girlfriends and my sister and two of us were drugged at the bar that we went to, and luckily my sister was not, so she got us out of there.
But in the weeks that followed that, my health declined and I didn’t necessarily attribute it to that drugging incident. And I was working really hard to try to figure out what was going on with me, with my medical doctor and team. I was [00:04:00] referred to specialists in the Boston area. I was in and out of the hospital with rapid weight loss.
decrease. So it was very underweight. My body wasn’t metabolizing food or absorbing any nutrients. My brain functioning was shutting down. I had all kinds of physical symptoms happening and no doctor specialist who I saw could identify the root cause of what was happening for me. So they couldn’t really diagnose me and they were having a hard time even treating me.
My family friend, doctor, who I think went to Harvard, she’s very well educated. She Was very nervous for me. And she said, you know, I’m worried about your timeline. If there’s something else you want to try, you know, I’m open to working with any practitioner. I ended up at an alternative healing clinic. My mother took me out of an emergency room and took me to work with a naturopathic doctor who helped me a lot with homeopathy, but I wasn’t really getting [00:05:00] better fast enough.
She’s like, you’re not really dying anymore, but you’re not healing. Your body isn’t absorbing nutrients. You know, your health isn’t improving at all. So she referred me to a woman at the clinic and she said, I don’t know how to explain to you what she does, but. I was desperate at that point, so I was open, and I said, I don’t care what she does, I’m gonna try it, and I went into her office, I had an appointment, and I didn’t explain anything to her, I didn’t have the energy to, I just got on her table, and she started doing some, like, body work on me, that was what I thought it was.
And within 10 minutes, I was, like, drenched in sweat and really, like, awkward and uncomfortable. But I said to her, can you please turn the heat off on your table? And she said, this isn’t a heated table. So I was like, what is going on with my body? Why am I sweating so profusely? And she was like, this is your body’s response to the work.
And I was like, well, what is the work? Like, what are you doing to me? [00:06:00] So I stayed with her. I didn’t know what she was doing. I thought it was very strange, but I felt better by the end of the session. It was the best I had felt since I had gotten sick since six months prior. So I started asking questions.
I said, I’m coming back tomorrow. I need your help. I think this is going to work for me. And then she started to explain what she was doing and it was energy work and some craniosacral therapy. So I had a conversation with God. While I was very sick, and I had said if I survive this, I’ll dedicate my life to studying, practicing, and teaching about whatever it is that helps me.
So if anyone’s ever in this position again, I can help them feel better, thinking I would be a rheumatologist. And then it ended up being energy healing that really helped me the most. Wow. Okay.
Melissa: So, what do you think happened to you? Do you think that incident created some blocks, some energetic blocks, like what [00:07:00] do you think?
What’s your hypothesis?
Caitlin: So I get asked that question quite a bit, and like physically, medically, I, there’s no diagnosis. I was never diagnosed with anything medically. So I, given all the work I’ve done on myself, I, obviously there were physical manifestations of illness. But I also believe that what happened to me Was a sort of karmic illness, which really ultimately turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me as terrifying as it was at the time and difficult as it was to go through.
It really put me on a very purposeful, meaningful path with my life. It made sense of a lot of intuitive gifts that I had since childhood, and I was able to kind of harness the experience and alchemize it and use it. In trying to help as many people as I can, just raise awareness or with sessions or classes.
So it was one of the greatest gifts of my life. [00:08:00] And I do believe it was a karmic illness intended to put me on my path in this life.
Melissa: Mm hmm. Let’s talk about karma. What is karma? Because there’s different definitions. What’s karma to you?
Caitlin: Yeah, there are many different definitions. And karma to me is left over energy from another time and place.
So it depends on your worldview. If you believe in past lives, then you could say karma comes from a past life. If you believe in alternate universes or dimensions, you could say everything’s happening all at once and maybe bleeding through into this time and place where you currently are. If you don’t believe in either of those things, you can look at karma from an epigenetic standpoint and you will look at the blood and the DNA and just know that.
All of the trauma, experiences, difficulty, challenges, love, benefit that your ancestors experienced [00:09:00] is flowing through your veins and your blood and your DNA and influencing your experience here and your expression. So most people when When they refer to karma, they’re talking about like a karmic debt, like a karma in a negative way, but there can also be karmic benefit.
There is a positive side to karma, and some people also refer to karma as like the judicial system of the universe, the checks and balance system that keeps everything kind of balanced and fair. Okay,
Melissa: super interesting. I think what most resonates with me when I think of karma is past lives. But I also believe that everything’s happening at once too.
So I’m kind of like a bit of a mix, but I want to talk about how karma might affect our business. Cause so many people listening to this podcast are solopreneurs, entrepreneurs. How can karma affect our business? [00:10:00]
Caitlin: That’s a really good question. And I think it’s interesting because I’m also a business owner myself.
So, karma can present in many different ways. There are different types of karma. So, there’s individual karma, which is just yours. And that’s karma that shows up as like a blockage, you might say, or a pattern or cycle that you find keeps coming up throughout your life, where maybe you feel like a lack, you know, a lack signature, where you just can’t ever have enough or make enough, or a lot of people use the term imposter syndrome now.
So it might be showing up as like a lack of confidence or certainty in yourself. So that would be an example of an individual karma. But karma can also include groups of people. So it can include co workers or employees. It can include business partners. There could be business partners and there’s karma between them.
And it can really impact the culture of a business, the morale of a business, [00:11:00] rapport between you and clients. It can impact reputation. It can look like the breaking of a contract or a betrayal. So there are a lot of different ways it can show up. There is also family and ancestral karma. So you could look at family businesses and the themes that run through the family that impact the business.
And also ancestral, so lineage, which might look like, uh, difficulty with reputation is actually family. Kind of a common ancestral lineage karmic piece that might show up as a business.
Melissa: Okay. Can you give any other examples of how karma presents itself in a business? Cause I just really want people to see if they can identify.
If any of these are showing up for them.
Caitlin: Sure. So I can give an example of a collaboration. So let’s say you have someone you want to go in business into business with, or you’re in business with, [00:12:00] so your business partners and things are kind of smooth sailing, something will happen where karma is triggered and that could really be anything.
It could be like a contract that comes up that needs to be signed, or you need to make a decision about finances. for a client that you want to take on that the other person doesn’t want to take on. So things have been going really well. And then all of a sudden there’s a trigger. And karma equals drama.
So when karma pops, you’re going to be aware of it. It’s going to be dramatic. There’s going to be a very high emotional pitch or intensity to the situation. It might even feel like it’s Over the top, like it’s actually out of proportion for what’s happening and you’re like, where is this coming from?
Right? But the resonance of the emotion will be deep. It will be very deep and real for people. So that could end in a lot of ways. These kinds of difficulties come up all the time. And they end in like the [00:13:00] dissolution of a business. They end in businesses being separated. People sometimes try to continue on, but the trust or faith is broken.
Or there’s like A deep wounding kind of between these people that affects everybody in the business, right? It trickles down to the culture.
Melissa: Yeah, absolutely. One of my business coaches has a hard rule, no business partners. He’s like, never go into business with anyone. He has this hard rule, no partners, because like 99 percent of the time he has seen it not work out.
So I just wanted to drop that in there, but let’s talk about another example. What’s another example that doesn’t involve like a business partnership, but some other ways that karma presents itself. in their business. So I just want people to be able to recognize when karma is at play. Right.
Caitlin: So another way it can show up, say you’re a solopreneur, like say you do have your own business.
You [00:14:00] might have employees or not. You can look at it from The standpoint of you’re working solo with clients or customers and everything’s on you. So you don’t have a business partner. Um, you’re cruising along with your business and you bump into, let’s say, um, an inability to scale or grow. Like you have been doing well, you’ve been able to keep up with business to a certain point.
Maybe it’s grown beyond the point where you even thought it would. And now there’s all You’re kind of bumping up against this wall that you know you could expand beyond, but you’re having a really hard time with that. And that alone could be karmic. So it could be frustrating. It might even start to, your business might start to die or fall off because you’re not expanding.
You’re not keeping up with demand, or you’re not keeping up with Like current practices, even you can’t implement things that people are asking for. So, and that could be, that karma could be different for different people. That could be lack [00:15:00] karma. It could be a karma feeling uninspired or not enough. You could be bumping into familial karma where there’s self sabotage happening for you, and it could ultimately will impact your business.
It will impact. Potentially a reputation, you know, clients may start to look elsewhere and your strangulation, I guess, of business, that would be maybe a signature from another lifetime.
Melissa: Okay. So maybe we recognize this, what do we do about it? How can we move past it? So
Caitlin: recognition is actually really important with karma.
It’s easy to get sucked into the drama and the emotion with karma. So if this was your business and this started to happen. You might start to panic, right? You might start to feel a little bit desperate. You might start to move out of alignment because you’re trying to keep up with other people or do things a different way.
People are perceiving that as inauthentic. You’re compromising your integrity. So, recognition’s actually [00:16:00] very important with karma. The second you feel a shift where the emotion is deep, something’s been triggered, and you’re getting stuck, sucked in. Karma has a way of sucking you in. It can feel very heavy, burdensome.
It can be exhausting, and it can also make you feel like there’s no maneuver, no move that you can make that shifts the energy. It’s very sticky, can make you feel stuck. So, recognitions, step number one. And then there are a bunch of things you can do to start to dissipate or clear karma. One is start to create some distance between yourself and the emotion, or the drama of the situation.
And then you’re going to want to start to pay very close attention to your behavior, because you’re probably going to notice patterns. When karma shows up that’s individual for someone, there are cycles and patterns of behavior. And it can be challenging sometimes to be objective about these things for yourself, but once you’re aware the karma is present, that’s your hint.
So you’re going to take a [00:17:00] step back and start to witness yourself, stand in an observer stance. Change your posture and then usually there are many different ways you can clear and you want to look at all the four bodies of physical ways you can clear your karma, which might look like a breathwork, a yoga practice using exercise, harnessing the energy from the karma, using it, alchemizing it through an exercise routine to motivate you.
very consciously with that intention that you’re dissolving or clearing the karma. Emotionally, I like to use flower remedies. They’re really great at dissipating willow backflower essence is a great remedy for dissolving karma. So you can look at some of those. And meditation is a great mental body way.
Meditation, mindfulness, and then spiritual practice. So prayer, whatever, if you’re religious, you know, you can look to whatever your religious practices [00:18:00] are. You want to focus on forgiveness and accountability. You have to take 100 percent accountability for how you’ve participated in the karma before you’ll be able to release it.
Melissa: Um, I love that. Very practical things and it’s really important that we look at all of those different bodies to release it. I love it. And so when you say things like breathwork or exercise, is there a specific set of exercises or breathwork or is it more just the intention that you go in? to the exercise or the breathwork, which is to release this physically from your body and just saying that intention, doing a workout or doing a breathwork session, and then it’s released that way.
Or is there a specific routine that you recommend?
Caitlin: It’s really the intentionality and it’s not necessarily the thing that you’re most comfortable doing that’s going to release the karma. So you may have to step outside of your comfort zone, but there’s really no specific thing like box breathing, Vipassana [00:19:00] meditation with breath work is really helpful.
Any pranayama practice. I have a Ganesha chant protocol that I’ve used. Ganesha helps stomp through obstacles. So it’s really helpful to work with Ganesha to clear karma. Any forgiveness practice like atonement practice if you’re religious and there’s an atonement practice in your faith, a confession, anything like that.
And with regards to moving your body. You know, I think mindful movement, and that could be running or walking for some people, it really depends. But just as long as that’s your intention, and that’s what you’re using the practice for. Like, this is my walk to help me dissipate the karma. The other thing you can do is good deeds, so you can cultivate good karma, you can cultivate karmic benefit.
The only thing you need to watch out for with that is you’re not looking for any recognition, and you actually probably don’t want anyone to even know that you’re doing the good deeds, so anything that you can do to help [00:20:00] someone, and that can be a daily practice, or you can choose one thing that you do all the time, and that’s your karmic benefit practice.
Like, always letting someone turn in front of you in a car, always holding the door for someone and making that your karmic practice with intention.
Melissa: Oh, I love that. So beautiful. I love little random acts of kindness like that. I think it’s so beautiful. And it’s like depositing good karma into your karmic bank.
Now, I was thinking as you were saying that and talking about doing good deeds every day and I’m like, that’s all I do all day long for my daughter. Like I’m just constantly doing this for her. In the morning, like I set the table out for her. So she comes downstairs and her breakfast is beautiful. I pull a card for her.
There’s sometimes crystals or flowers. But I am like, I would like to do that for other people too. Keep doing it for her, but like do it for other people as well.
Caitlin: What a beautiful [00:21:00] practice of selflessness and you’re totally tuned into her. And yes, so you can do that. Even just that practice you’re already doing for her, you can have the intention that it’s helping to clear karma for you or create karmic benefit, even for her.
You can do that. You can, They like prayer or metta meditation, you can use your practice to also work on that person’s karmic benefit to kind of add to that person’s karmic bank account. And it feels like that’s maybe what you’re doing for your daughter, which is so beautiful. I love that.
Melissa: Yeah. Cause I definitely don’t expect anything in return.
Right. So it’s your practice. It’s part of your karmic practice.
Caitlin: Yes.
Melissa: Yeah, absolutely, absolutely. It’s so interesting. Okay. So I love this so much. So we have the awareness that maybe there is some karma in our business. We’ve got the tools to release it. What if it comes up again? [00:22:00]
Caitlin: That’s a great question.
And that is what happens with karma. So what karma can look like, and you’re carrying this from another time and place. So karma, the way it looks, its life cycle is that it will Show up in your life. There’ll be some kind of catalyst that triggers the initiation of the karma showing up or bleeding through into this life, and you’ll see it, and it might start when you’re in grade school, even, you know, when you’re young, and if it’s not really recognized, managed, addressed, released, it’ll submerge, but it will come back and it will usually come back a little louder.
And the next time it shows up, you’re like, I, this is familiar for me, you know, like I was always ostracized in school and now it’s happening to me again at college and in my workplace. And then it may, You know, submerge again because it’s not actually released and then it will come back again and a little louder every time.
And these are like those life lessons that were like, if you don’t get the lesson, it will come back louder. So it does [00:23:00] come back. And. It’s important if you recognize it to do what you can to dissolve and release it so you don’t continue on with the cycle or pattern. That’s really ultimately the goal.
And these karmic patterns and cycles are about your soul’s evolution, your soul’s really trying to help you get a lesson and expand. So it will come back. I do Akashic record reading and I know there are other people who work with karma in that way and also past life regression, which I don’t do. But I do notice that people who come to me who have done past life regression work, they know the karma is present.
They have a sense of what that lifetime was like, where the karma was created, but they haven’t yet released it. And so there’ll be walking around with their karma, very present for them. And it can be really uncomfortable. So the release is very important, actually, especially once you’ve recognized, okay, I’m, I’m dealing with karma [00:24:00] here.
This is a pattern. This is a cycle for me. Okay.
Melissa: Okay, and apart from doing beautiful, random acts of kindness without expecting anything in return, without anyone even knowing, is there anything else that we can do to deposit good karma into our karma bank? Yeah, work on yourself, you
Caitlin: know? The more you work on yourself, it’s like a gift to the people around you, really.
The accountability piece, when you start with accountability work in your life and really taking 100 percent ownership of how you have contributed to a situation, the drama decreases quite a bit, because you can say, listen, I know I showed up in this way, I participated in this way, I’m sorry, and I’m not going to do it anymore and start really holding yourself accountable.
That alone is very helpful and it will shift dynamic and it helps other people step up. [00:25:00] So when you work on yourself in this way, you’re stepping up your vibration and the people around you will benefit from that. You’ll also find that the people in your life or the people you’re working with at your company or your clients, you’re going to start to attract people who are either in alignment with that vibration and able to harmonize with it.
We’re able to raise their vibration up to meet you in this place, and other people are going to drop away. So your impact over the environment, the space that you’re in, is greater the higher your vibration gets. Your ability to influence others is greater, so there is more responsibility that comes with this, but that also means that others will benefit from the work you’ve done on yourself.
Oh my gosh.
Melissa: Yeah. Everybody benefits from the work you do on yourself, like your children, your teammates, your clients, [00:26:00] your partner. I think that is one of the most underrated. Relationship hacks, business hacks, parenting hacks. I
Caitlin: agree, because I think with business, integrity is one of the most important aspects to being a business owner.
Honoring your word, doing what you say, you’re going to do, showing up 100 percent for clients, and if you’re living this life of accountability and really in alignment and have integrity, people feel that. They’ll show up and they It resonates for them, you know, that has helped me maintain clients because they trust that I’m going to show up.
I’m doing my work. I’m holding up my end of the bargain for them. So it can definitely benefit your business. And I also think just help you be seen. As more of a professional, which I think there are a lot of people, professionalism isn’t, I don’t think what it used to be. And I think it’s actually very important.[00:27:00]
Melissa: Yes, absolutely. A hundred percent. You mentioned Akashic records. What is that? Good
Caitlin: question. So Akashic records hold basically. Every moment of every soul’s history since inception. So, every moment of your soul is recorded in this place. And, again, it depends on world you like. That could be past lives, or that could be all of these dimensions, where all of these lifetimes are happening all at the same time.
But this is a place where we can access points in your soul’s journey that would allow us to release karma that’s especially sticky or tricky. So when you go into the Akashic Records, for the work I do Akashic Record Reading, and I’ll ask to be shown the most beneficial lifetime or point in time for your soul to release whatever it is that’s sticky.
you know, up karmically for you. And I’ll get a whole story. And this, you know, plays [00:28:00] out for me like a movie. And I describe what I see. And sometimes it’s really sexy and interesting and dramatic. Sometimes it’s really disturbing. And sometimes it’s kind of, it seems like not much of anything, but there’s always an imprint signature that can be released karmically.
This is accessed and brought to light, which will really shift someone energetically. And there is always a lesson for this. It’s a soul lesson. So it’s one of the reasons that you would have incarnated in this lifetime. It’s a big lesson for your soul that you’re trying to learn. And we can extract that, bring it to light.
And you can use that to move forward in your life. without this karmic influencer or pattern bleeding through anymore. So you can start to create a different experience for yourself than the one you’ve been having, which can be very helpful.
Melissa: Absolutely. I loved my reading with you. It was so fascinating.
Caitlin: I’m glad. Yes. They are so interesting. People get really excited about the [00:29:00] reading. They are very interesting and there’s usually resonance for people. Like they’re like, Oh, you know, I didn’t realize that the person I was reading was obsessed with lavender at one point and her lifetime was all about lavender in the south of france and she was selling lavender living on a lavender farm making soap with lavender and at the end of the reading she was crying and she’s like i’m sitting in my bed right now and it’s covered in lavender she hung lavender all over her bed so these really beautiful insights to like why you prefer certain things or feel at home in certain countries will come through the readings too which is kind of cool it makes sense of your soul
Melissa: Wow.
And does a lot come through on the business side of things with the Akashic Records as well? Yeah, I would say so. I
Caitlin: think Purpose, direction, focus, it can be very helpful for clearing blockages, which come up, especially when you’re an [00:30:00] entrepreneur, you may be following a template, you may start out following a template for someone who came before you.
But usually when you’re working for yourself, it’s kind of wild, right? Like, yeah. You’re on your own and you kind of have to figure it out and it can be great. The highs are really high. The lows can be really scary and crazy. Right? So I think we all as entrepreneurs, business owners might find ourselves in no man’s land, which could either be like the death of your business or.
Or an opportunity to kind of forge a new path that no one else has taken and really make your work very authentic and true to you and different and stand out,
Melissa: you know?
Caitlin: Absolutely. I really,
Melissa: yeah, I resonate with that so much because there is so much emulation. In the online space and the more we are true to ourself, the more we share our truth, then the more people are actually going to [00:31:00] resonate with that.
Caitlin: Yes, absolutely.
Melissa: So what else do we need to know about Akashic Records?
Caitlin: I think for Akashic Records, if people are interested, you can really do a lot of karmic work here. They’re interesting anyway, you know. If you’re someone who wants to do this kind of work or is doing this kind of work, energy work, soul work.
Even if you’re not, if you’ve been doing therapy or working with a business coach and you’re finding that you’re stuck. You know what the problem is, but it’s not shifting. You can see the pattern or the cycle, but it’s not resolving. And you’re just kind of thinking because we’re in our heads a lot in the societies we live in today.
The Akashic record work pulls it out of your head because that’s not actually where the energy is held. That’s not where the stagnation is. That’s not where the block is. It’s not in your thinking mind. It’s in your energy fields. Which is impacting your thinking mind, is impacting your physicality. [00:32:00] So, it’s kind of the Akashic Records, uh, great way to do deep work.
I mean, you could have one Akashic Record reading, release karma and it changes the entire trajectory of your life. Your energy is really freed up to reach your highest potential.
Melissa: Delightful. Absolutely delightful. Let’s talk about protecting our energy. Yeah, because in business. This is a really big thing, especially if you work one on one with clients.
Like you said, you sometimes get shown some really cool things and then sometimes maybe not so cool. So how do you protect your energy so that you are not feeling drained after sessions or things like that? Because so many people listening to this show work with clients and they need to protect their energy.
so much more than what they’re doing?
Caitlin: Yeah,
Melissa: that’s
Caitlin: [00:33:00] a really good question. So, self care is hugely important. You cannot skimp on it. Energy doesn’t lie. So, if you’re not taking care of yourself, you’re more susceptible, just like your immune system is more susceptible if you’re not sleeping or eating well, right?
Or working out. So, you need to be taking care of yourself on every level. So, I’m going to revert again to the four body model. Where for myself physically, I don’t drink alcohol, eat really healthy and move my body all like a drink, plenty of water. I do homeopathy. I take my flower remedies. So I have all of my ways that I take care of myself physically.
And you need to know what those are and do those things. Emotionally, you need to process your emotions. I use, like I said, back flower remedies. There is a remedy called Walnut, which offers protection from outside influence, and I use it quite a bit. It’s, you know, put a couple drops in water, very simple to use, and you sip it throughout the day, and it helps create and [00:34:00] strengthen the healthy boundary of your energy field.
Healthy boundaries are so important. You can also add it to a diffuser if you’re working in a spa. space with an essential oil, and it will infuse the space, the really beautiful, healthy boundary. So walnut flower remedy remedy is helpful for the healthy boundaries and protection from outside influence.
You can use crystals, you know, onyx, tourmaline. You can also, you want to make sure you’re processing. So if you’re triggered. By something you need to process that that’s another way that energy can kind of get into your field. You want to maintain a neutral stance. at all times if possible and really put your ego to the side and make it about the client.
So that’s actually a really important point. Like it’s not about you. It’s really all about the client and you want to box up or set to the side your personal ego and agenda. So you can’t be [00:35:00] triggered. Nothing can infiltrate your energy field and you can be very present in the space. And then spiritually, whatever your spiritual practices are, chanting, meditation, prayer, like a meta meditation, compassion practice, yoga.
Whatever your way is where you feel really strong, that’s what you want to do. But you have to address all levels of your being. You have to do your work so that you can hold space for other people.
Melissa: One hundred percent. We’ve got to take responsibility. We’ve got to fill ourselves up. I love it. So simple and everybody can do it.
Imagine if every single human being did this. The interaction, the quality of interaction would be so wonderful. Hundred percent. And I know, for example, sleep is so big for me. I know if I have not had a good sleep. That morning when I do wake up, what can I do to [00:36:00] support myself even more today? Cause I know I’m going to need it.
Is there anything I can remove from my day? And then what can I add in that’s going to support me so that I can show up as the best boss, the best wife, the best mama, the best friend that I can be. I look at my day and I’m like, okay, cool. I can maybe move that meeting to next week. And I’m going to go for a walk instead, or maybe I’ll ask my nanny to stay half an hour extra so I can meditate or something like that.
But I think this is where responsibility is so important. We have to take responsibility. We have to tune in with ourself and ask ourselves, how are we feeling? Where is my nervous system at right now? Where can I give myself some more love and time to fill myself up?
Caitlin: You’re also talking about like, Managing your energy, which is beautiful.
You’re managing yourself in a way that maybe other people don’t. So what you’re saying is really [00:37:00] important. Be aware, be conscious of what is my state today? What is my state of being? What does my emotional sky look like? Is it cloudy? Is it sunny? So once you have your baseline, you’re managing. Your energy, which is really beautiful practice.
I think it’s important and that’s helpful for you to maintain neutrality, right? To not get triggered, to not fall behind, to not get overwhelmed or exhausted. That’s a
Melissa: beautiful practice. I mean, I’ve got to, I’ve got a team of 10 people I’m managing every day. I’ve got hundreds of clients. I’ve got my husband, I’ve got my daughter, I’ve got friends.
I’ve got to manage my energy and take responsibility. You know what? I feel like there are so many people that are just vomiting their stuff all over everybody now more than ever. You know, they just projectile vomiting this stuff [00:38:00] everywhere. And it’s not okay. Like it’s not okay in business and in life.
It is not okay to do that. We have to take responsibility for our own nervous system, for our energy and for how we are showing up. No one can do that for you. We have to do it ourselves. And the more that we do it, our clients will see that our partner will see that our children will see that and they will do it as well.
Like it’s. Inspiration for them. So we just have to take responsibility, take ownership for how we’re showing up and for our nervous system. You know, I remind myself of this every day. I’m like, it’s not my daughter’s responsibility to calm my nervous system. It’s mine. I have to do it. I have to do the work.
So I get up earlier so I can meditate before she wakes up and things like that. They’re very simple things that we can add into our day that don’t cost money. It’s just about [00:39:00] reorganizing your life and reprioritizing. Yourself and your nervous system, because when you do prioritize your self and your nervous system, every area of your life improves your business, your relationships, your health, and Everything improves.
I just want to encourage everybody. It’s time. It’s time for us to stop projecting our stuff all over everybody and to start taking more responsibility for our stuff and how we’re showing up and our karma and our energy. Yes, exactly. Exactly. Beautifully said. Yeah. Is there anything else you think we need to know about karma, energy, business, Akashic records?
Caitlin: I would just say. You know, if you are a business owner, you work for yourself and you feel stuck more than likely, [00:40:00] more likely than not, you’re bumping into some karma. And Rather than, you know, relationships end because of this. I mean, if we’re looking at it from a business point of view, it could be like you’re losing a really valuable employee over it or a business partner or a client that’s very important to you.
But karma doesn’t need to be the end of a relationship. It doesn’t need to be the end of a business. You can work through it. So, a lot of people kind of hit that karmic wall, the drama, the intense emotion of it and give up, or the reaction that they have, because they’re not very conscious about it, is damaging.
Like, it’s such a strong emotional reaction. Or, You know, they act out out of that emotion and it really damages a relationship. So I think that’s really like what I’d want to leave people with. Just know that if you bump into this and you recognize that we all bump into it many times in our lifetimes, that it doesn’t need to [00:41:00] mean the end of something.
It can be worked with and worked through.
Melissa: I love that. That’s beautiful. Now, let’s pretend you have a magic wand and you could put one book in the school curriculum of every high school around the world. What book would you choose? It can be on any topic, just the first book that comes to your mind. Power vs.
Force.
Caitlin: It’s a book about vibration and how every single thing in the universe has a vibration. And it contains the map of consciousness, which shows you every vibratory state that you can ascend through, and all of the associated, like, characteristics, worldviews. It’s a really informative book. It really opened my mind up to
Melissa: energy.
I love it. Haven’t read it, so. I’ll link to it in the show notes, but I’m going to check that out. That sounds amazing. Now, I’d love to hear how your day looks. Start from the moment you wake up to when you go to bed, a typical day in your [00:42:00] life. I know no two days are ever the same, but I want to hear your rituals, your routines, like how do you energetically, um, get through the day?
Cover yourself and protect yourself. Like what are all the little things you do?
Caitlin: I do so many things. I feel like that would take forever to explain, but I wake up in the morning and I give myself time. So I just let myself be in my bed or in my house, quiet. I like quiet in the morning. Peace. I don’t like to have to do anything right away.
I’ll do a meditation. Just a short meditation, like a five minute meditation, depending on the day, like I’ll get up, I’ll take a shower. I use a mixture of sea salt and baking soda in my showers. That’s part of my energetic hygiene. So I do a body scrub with that, which is very detoxifying and clearing and balancing for your energy field.
I eat as clean as I can. I’ll have breakfast. I have usually clients in the morning. I’ll do a couple of client sessions. If I’m going to work out, I’ll [00:43:00] do that between my morning and my afternoons. Go to the gym, take a bar class or yoga class, go for a walk outside, play pickleball with my sister and my mom.
And then I will, in the afternoon, usually work with more clients. And that’s kind of it. I’ll make dinner or have dinner with family or friends. I go to bed pretty early, so I’m actually up very early in the morning. And before bed, I usually do a spiritual practice. So it has, it always changes. It’s always changing.
Right now it’s prayer. So it has been in the past like chanting or breath work, but right now it’s prayer. And that’s kind of it. I mean, that’s the gist. I do a lot of homeopathy. I work with flower remedies, so whatever I need for the day to help me feel supported and clear, and like I can be present for clients, I may do energy clearing, I may do some Reiki on myself.
I usually go to bed with my hands on my chest and giving myself some Reiki energy.
Melissa: That’s my day. [00:44:00] Beautiful. Beautiful. I’m teaching my daughter about energy healing and Reiki. So whenever she hurts herself, like if she falls off her scooter and hurts her knee and she’s upset, I’ll say, uh, let me do some Reiki or energy healing on your knee.
And I put my hands over and now she’s like, mama, energy healing. It’s so cute.
Caitlin: I think that’s beautiful. I think everyone should be teaching it to their kids. Wow. I love that you do that.
Melissa: Yeah, it’s very cute. And you know, she’s only had homeopathy for the three years of her life. Like she’s never had anything else.
So we’ve always lent to that first and it’s so powerful. Mainly it started with teething, you know, when she was super little. I would get some for her teething. And now like, she just says, mama homeopathy. She’ll tell me when she needs it now. Like, I don’t even need to ask her. Like she will, or she’ll just go and get it.
And I’m just like, [00:45:00] wow. Okay. Like I just listened to that. So it’s pretty powerful stuff. You know, nature is. It’s amazing and so powerful. So yeah, I love your day. It’s beautiful. I love hearing about how people just set themselves up for a successful day in business and in life and your day sounds delicious.
That’s for sure.
Caitlin: Thank you.
Melissa: All right, my friend. I’ve got three rapid fire questions for you now. Are you ready?
Caitlin: Yes.
Melissa: Okay. What is one thing we can do today for our health? I would say
Caitlin: start using homeopathy. If you don’t know what it is, buy a book, find a practitioner. It’s so helpful. It heals on every level.
Melissa: I’ve had two experts on the show, Melissa Koopsch and Dr. Isaac Golden. I’ll link to those. They are incredible episodes. So yeah, I just love homeopathy as well so much and definitely recommend it, but grab yourself a book. I love it. Okay. What is one thing we can do for more wealth in our [00:46:00] life?
Caitlin: I would say gratitude practice.
So if you can live in a state of gratitude, the abundance that will flow to you, and it’s not always easy to do. But if you just start a practice, even like a gratitude journal with three bullet points, it could be a word for each bullet point at the end of the day, you, it starts to cultivate that energy in your life.
It’s really helpful.
Melissa: Absolutely. I am such a huge fan of gratitude. I love it. Okay. Last one. What is one thing we can do for more love in our life?
Caitlin: Oh, show love. I think people talk and think a lot about love, but to show it, which is just a beautiful, unconditional display. What we were talking about earlier, where you don’t expect recognition, you don’t expect anything.
You have no agenda to just show love, like do an act, and not talk or [00:47:00] think about it, show
Melissa: it. Beautiful. I love that. This has been so beautiful and I absolutely love the work that you’re doing in the world. You are helping and serving so many people. So I want to know how I and the listeners can give back to you today.
Caitlin: Thank you. I wanted to mention a project that I started with a friend of mine. So it’s providing. integrative care for people who are facing end of life, their caregivers and those who are grieving the loss of a loved one. And it’s called the Lori project. It was inspired by a client of mine who passed away from terminal brain cancer.
And we have some incredible practitioners, a bunch of free resources and a membership option. And I can give a free membership code to anyone who’s interested. If they want to try it out for a month. We have live offerings and a library of prerecorded content to help people who are grieving or just facing end of life.
It’s really challenging. And there’s a lot of breath work, [00:48:00] meditation, Reiki, EFT tapping that can really help support people through that time.
Melissa: So beautiful and so important. So beautiful. Wow. That’s beautiful. really special. There’s not enough support for those people. There’s not. It’s just, you’re kind of like left out to grieve and get back to life like the day after.
And you’re just like, what the hell? Like I just had, you know, someone close to me pass. Like, it’s just wild that there’s not any more support than there is. So I love that you’re doing this. We’ll link to it in the show notes and I’ll also add the code in the show notes. So if anyone is interested, go to the show notes, the code will be there for your free month trial and all the details there.
If you’re interested in that. Oh, wow. That’s so beautiful. Thank you for all the incredible work that you do in the world. That’s very special. And thank you for being here and sharing with us today. It’s been such a delight. Thank you so much.[00:49:00]
