Give Me 3 Days And I'll Show You How To Scale Your Business — Without The Burnout Discover the EXACT method I have used to show thousands of coaches, consultants and service providers how to scale their income to 6 figures (and beyond). Register for my FREE 3 Day Challenge >>

I absolutely love it when someone recommends a great massage therapist or their favourite app to help streamline their life, so I thought today I would share my first ever ‘Goddess Guide’ to my all my favourite things for health, wealth and love.

(Heads up — I am not getting paid to promote any of these products or services, I simply want to share these babies with you because I love them, and I love you!)

For Health

Barre Body

There are loads of these type of barre classes popping up everywhere now, which I love. I used to be a professional dancer and Barre Body takes me right back to my ballet days. I love it! If only I could wear my tutu.

Fermented Veggies

These probiotic-rich veggies are jam-packed with goodies to get your guts running like a well (coconut) oiled machine. I love Peace Love & Vegetables — they are delish!

Bone Broth

Bone broth helps restore the healthy mucosal lining in the gut. It’s jam-packed with gelatine and collagen and is also high in proline (a super-important amino acid). Learn more about bone broth plus get my bone broth recipe here.

Meditation

Meditation is by far the best thing you can do for your health and the secret to my success. Jump on the bandwagon now.

Oxygen Therapy

Oxygen therapy is a noninvasive treatment that provides you with extra oxygen, a gas that your body needs to work well, function better and be more active.

Massage from Joanna at Still Beauty

Sometimes, the stars align, and you meet a practitioner who just knows how to work magic on your body. Joey is one of them! Every massage I have with her, I am transported to another world. Her hands are like magic.

Podcasts

Books

  • Primal Body Primal Mind, by Nora Gedgaudas (book)

When it comes to food, health and wellness, this is my bible. Yes, it’s chunky and full of scientific lingo, but in order to make informed, conscious choices around your food and health, you need to be well-educated on all the facts. I read it because I wanted to understand more about the link between the way we eat and our evolution, and this book helps you understand exactly how we are supposed to eat and why.

  • The Body Ecology Diet, by Donna Gates (book)

I used to experience bloating, candida, adult acne and eczema. It wasn’t until I read this book and adopted The Body Ecology principles into my life that all my health concerns dramatically improved. There are so many ideas and insights in this wellness classic which have changed my life —  you won’t regret reading it.

  • Women, Food and God, by Geneen Roth (book)

With all my clients, in my talks, on my blog and in my book 12 Steps To Wellness, I’ve been repeating one essential truth for years: the way we eat is a direct reflection of every other area of our lives. This is the message that Geneen Roth shares in Women, Food and God. This book perfectly describes how to heal your relationship with food and how to end your tortuous relationship with your body.

Apps

Period Tracker — This app is awesome for tracking your moon cycle, which I highly recommend all ladies do.

Institute Of Integrative Nutrition

Whether you want to become a health coach or just amp up your own knowledge on health and wellness for yourself and your family, this year-long course is amazing and one of the best things you can do for yourself. I loved it!

Make Up

My beautiful friend Emmily from Depths of Beauty is an organic make-up artist and she is constantly keeping me updated with the latest goodies that are actually good for you. Although I don’t wear a lot of make-up, when I do I want to make sure it’s got zero nasties and is actually nourishing my skin, which is why I love Ere Perez and Inika.

Skin Care Products

Like make-up, I am very simple with what I put on my skin. I use organic extra virgin coconut oil as my moisturiser, to take off my make-up, and as a treatment for my hair. You can find out everything else I use in this post here.

Clothes

I am always getting asked where I shop and what I am wearing (which is very flattering — thank you!). A few of my favourite labels are: Sass and Bide, Alice McCall and Tigerlily.

 Sheets

I LOVE my YoHome bamboo sheets. We spend half our lives in our beds, so this is definitely a place I love to turn into a divine little wellness sanctuary.

For Wealth

Meditation

If you want to be successful and wildly wealthy meditation is key.

Books

  • The 4-Hour Workweek, by Tim Ferriss (book)

When I first started my business, I thought I had to sit in front of my computer all day and night or I wouldn’t be successful. This book made me realise that it’s not about working harder, it’s about working smarter. The 4-Hour Workweek gives you all the tools you need to set up and create the freedom-based business you desire.

  • Turning Pro, by Steven Pressfield (book)

This book talks about the concept of being an amateur versus being a ‘pro’. Reading it was quite a pivotal moment for me. It helped me see all the stinky, amateur habits I was relying on, and that I needed to ‘turn pro’ in many areas of my life — not just within my business. This is a quick and easy read that you won’t be able to put down.

Podcasts

  • The Tim Ferris Show (podcast)
  • Seth Godin’s Startup School (website)

TED Talks

  • Simon Sinek — How great leaders inspire action (video)
  • Elizabeth Gilbert — Your elusive creative genius (video)
  • Steve Jobs — How to live before you die (video)
  • Seth Godin — The tribes we lead (video)

Apps

I have written about my favourite apps here, but my top three that I use daily are Voxer, 1Password and Drive.

For Love

Nature Time

  • The Bondi to Bronte coastal walk in Sydney. This beach-side path along the cliffs is just breathtaking. No matter how many times I do it, it still blows my mind.
  • The Noosa to Sunshine Beach walk. This is another jaw-dropping scenic walk that will get you high on Mama Nature’s love.
  • Tea Tree Beach in Noosa — I love packing a picnic and heading here for the day with my family. It’s such a magical spot.

Make Love

I know this might sound obvious but if you want more love in your life make sweet love to your lover.

Self-love

One of my favourite acts of self-love is dry body brushing. It’s something I do every single morning without fail. You can read all about why I love it here.

Inspiring TED Talks

  • Jill Bolte Taylor — My stroke of insight (video)
  • Ken Robinson — Do schools kill creativity? (video)
  • Brené Brown — The power of vulnerability (video)

Books

  • Dear Lover, by David Deida (book)

I believe this book is why I am with my husband today. I read it before we got together and something really shifted within me. This book showed me what is truly possible within a conscious union. It opened my eyes to the divine beauty that can unfold when two people come together, get out of the way, and choose love.

  • The Gifts Of Imperfections, by Brené Brown (book)

Another supreme book from Brené Brown. I couldn’t put it down —  her wit, wisdom and humor make you want to devour every word in one sitting. This book made me see that I was striving for perfectionism when ‘perfect’ doesn’t even exist. A truly powerful read.

Now it’s over to you, beautiful! I would L.O.V.E. to hear what your favourite things are when it comes to health, wealth and love. Let’s start a gorgeous list in the comments below of any of the little tools or tidbits that have been helping you live like the true goddess that you are.

(You might want to bookmark this page so that you’ve got it on hand the next time you’re looking for a heart-fuelled pick-me-up or goddess-approved recommendation!)

Thank you so much for opening your heart and sharing with such generosity — you rock my world!

Last Sunday I participated in Marianne Williamson’s workshop and aming many a-ha moments, one brought me to the question of where to buy clothes, cosmetics and other beautiful things that are supporting locals, are environment-friendly, organic and generally created with care and love for humans, animals and our entire planet. Thank you for sharing your thoughts; I can’t wait for others to share where they shop and how they look after their health. Tips from myself are no different; meditation, exercise, practice of mindful eating to nourish my body; reading and listenjng to materialn by

  2. Amanda says:

What an amazing list Mel! I love trying new products, reading books and listening to motivating talks – can’t wait to try some on your list!

My favourite books to read about women’s health and the impact of stress on our bodies are anything by Dr Libby Weaver – The Rushing Woman’s Syndrome and The Calorie Fallacy. I also loved Nat Kringoudis’ video series Debunking Stress.

My other recent discovery is a wonderful naturopath – Lara Briden. She has a blog under her name and has recently started helping me with fixing my digestive issues and hormones. I really feel like I can trust her.

Finally…my favourite natural cleaning products are from Eco Store! They are sold in supermarkets and you can also purchase direct from their websites in Australia and NZ!

Thanks again for sharing your amazing list 🙂

Thanks for sharing Melissa!! Lots of fabulous, yummy, goddess tips in there! I am Barre obsessed too (secretly tutu-dreaming!).
Another book that changed my life was Womens Bodies, Womens Wisdom, by Christiane Northrup – I’m sure you’ve stumbled upon it. Really loved it!

    • Melissa says:

Oh yeah, I LOVE that book so much.

Let’s get our tutu’s and get to a class together. Or even a dance class?

  5. Cherie Thorburn says:

Sometimes I feel like a bit of light reading when I’m relaxing instead of delving into a book. My favourite magazine & also where I 1st heard about you Melissa is ‘Peppermint’. There is no trashy gossip just articles that are inspiring & informative to living a more conscious life from the environment, to health & well being and all things good in between. They also help new businesses that are of ethical, high intent get some well deserved exposure xxx

    • Melissa says:

I LOVE Peppermint Mag, it’s so beautiful. I love sitting on my balcony in the sunshine with a cuppa reading it.

What’s your fav way to read it?

      xx

  6. Bianca says:

    Hi Melissa,

Thank you for your post and for all you do, I really like your work.
However, finding “The 4 hour work week” on this list seems so irritating to me. I read into the book for about 1/3, I really tried but in the end had to put it down because it made me so angry (which had literally never happened to me with any book before). As you say it’s not about working harder but smarter, and that part I totally endorse! But what he made money from included others having to work 40hour weeks (suppliers, manufacturers etc.). I want to do good work and be kind to myself, but I’d want it to be the same for everyone involved.
What do you think: do you recommend reading the rest of the book because this issue gets cleared up and his ideas on the long run are also for the philanthropists (I actually consider you to be one:-))?

    Thanks again for the tips,
    much love,
    Bianca

    • Melissa says:

      Hey Bianca,

Thanks so much for your comment.

The biggest things I got out of the book was the importance of being more organised and having more fun in life. I also learnt a lot about leverage through technology which has liberated me so much allowing me to soak up more juicy moments in life.

Whenever I read any books I always stay open and take what I want from the book and leave the rest. Not everything is always going to resonate with me and that’s ok.

What parts have resonated with you?

  7. Annika says:

Thank you! Anyway, I love reading your writing, it is so frienly and smooth!
I think you would love these books:
The World Peace Diet by Will Tuttle and
The China Stucy by Dr. Campbell

  8. Katie says:

Thanks so much for sharing Melissa, great idea!
I second Dharma Bums, and I also love Inika skincare.
It’s different, and may not be for everyone, but I also love using my angel guidance cards to sort my thoughts and make clear decisions 🙂
My husband & I also have date nights at home regularly (as we have little ones) we switch off our phones & ipads & have our fav meal, watch a movie or have a bath together etc.
Btw I also just finished reading Warrior Pose and absolutely loved it, such an inspirational book, so thanks for recommending it! xxx

    • Katie says:

Oh & also Thrive by Arianna Huffington is a brilliant book xx

    • Melissa says:

      Hey Katie,

I use angel cards every morning also but forgot to mention that, so thanks for mentioning it.

My hubby and I do the same, bath’s together are THE BEST!

      xx

Thank you Melissa for the great tips.

I love Dr John Doulliard Ayurvedic podcasts.

Yoga NIDRA has helped me sleep well again.

I love to mix organic castor oil-sesame oil-honey as a DIY oil cleanser.

Listening to Kundalini yoga mantras on my morning walks. They really relax and uplift the spirit.

Never thought I would be writing this, however the new easier Tracy Anderson DVDs like method express really help with my body connection and coordination. I love yoga and walking but this really helps me get toned up and boosts my confidence.

  11. RENEE SEXTON says:

great article. I love learning about new videos and health books. We all need lots of inspiration, so I can’t wait to check yours out.

  12. Marcella says:

Thank you all for sharing your beautiful methods for self-love & nurturing 🙂
I am enjoying gaining new insights and recommendations!

My personal goldies at the moment are:

+ Swimming (which makes me feel majestic 😉 )
    + Angel Cards
+ Morning Pages (as I feel like I can pour my monkey mind out onto a page & simultaneously be the “therapist” and consoling ear for that part of me to express everything inside of me)

Thank you for starting the discussion, Mel! I can’t wait to take a peek at some of those TED talks – the Elizabeth Gilbert one I’ve seen & it changed my (creative & artistic) world, woo!

    Xxx Marcella

    • Melissa says:

Thanks for sharing your list Marcella. Keep adding to it when you find some other goodies 😉

      xx

      • Marcella says:

        Thanks, Melissa
I would also add a recent reading of book, The Celestine Prophecy – it’s a real good’un and opened up my awareness majorly. Have you read it?
Now onto the next book which is teaching me some more. So that número quatro atm xx

      • Melissa says:

Oh yes Marcella that’s a brilliant book. I read it years ago but would love to re-read it I think.

Which book is next for you?

      • Marcella says:

The next one in line is called ‘The Tenth Insight’. I have just begun but am keen to see where it leads. The first, ‘Celestine’ taught me so much about personal power and the myth that humans may believe about power being a finite thing. Or something that we feel we can only access by taking it from others. Maaaaan, that clarified a lot for me. And how incredibly satisfying and LIBERATING it can feel to practice drawing our energy from Source instead <3 xx
I want to check out your book recommendations, also 😉 there's a lot to read in the world!

  13. Melanie says:

Wow! I could spend hours & hours reading your blogs and browsing all the links you have given and everything sounds amazing.

I did my first barre class at my pilates studio on Monday night (hard work but god it felt good). The Chinese medicine practitioner I see every six weeks for wellbeing acupuncture always gives me a bit of oxygen therapy, and I try to indulge in a massage every couple of months. After recently signing up to your goddess group & business bootcamp I am keen & motivated to spend more time meditating and listening to podcasts! I love reading about other people’s skincare choices as there is such an abundance of amazing products out there now. Currently using Grown Alchemist and loving it!

And LOVE – perfect! Nature time, make love & self-love all make me feel amazing!

  14. Jo says:

Wow thank you so much for sharing these tips Melissa, it’s so great to have a list of useful tools to help me on my quest to be healthier, wealthier and happier!
I can’t wait to incorporate body brushing into my daily routine!
    Brilliant article beautiful
    xXx

  15. Love this, Mel! What an inspiring list.. can I please ask what you have in your morning green smoothie, as I know you have said before it is integral to your wellness routine. <3 xx

    • Melissa says:
